This is the new age of boxing. No more drama, no more 4 counts or 8 counts. Just stop the fight.
If a fighter is out like Groves was he's in no state to continue even if he comes around.

    • Ref should always count to 8, why not?

      • At first I admit I was unsure, but his leg being bent like that made me change my mind and I knew he was out for atleast 3-4 seconds.

Either way Froch knocked him out and that was that, I'm still not a fan of Froch but he got the W in spectacular fashion.

If a guy is truly hurt, they want to get medical attention right away.

Check out the Hatton and Pac KOs. When it's clear the guy is hurt bad, the ref motions the doctors in right away.

Precisely. Groves hit the canvas like a wet towel. He was out cold Pacquiao style. He woke up and didn't know what was going on. Froch sent him back a week.

It was a good call, do we need another Mago situation to remind us? Groves was finished.
              Good post. Well said.

Hatton and Pac didn't/couldn't attempt to get up, Groves did.

                • He got dropped like a sack of potatoes and looked like a tarantula with broken legs.

No, he wasn't out Pacquiao style. Pacs lights were out. Groves were dimmed.
