I like Duva and I think she's a really intelligent reasonable promoter. The thing is she can't sell this to the fan on the back of money and views. She has to take it as a stand for the fans over what is turning off boxing fans. That's the angle she can use to win this argument because quite frankly it doesn't matter what side you are on...it's becoming unbearable to watch boxing because guys #1, #2, #3 and #4 aren't legitimately fighting each other as much. Those were the moments that unite all sides of boxing. You've got guys now getting one win and leapfrogging to like #4 on a ranking list because of their promoter and that guy gets a fight against a champion but was he a legit #4? Instead of a guy who may have been grinding out the division longer? Boxing has been absolutely ruined by ppv i'll be the first to say it, I had high hopes that CBS would bring big names back to regular tv and they haven't. Espn has tried but they aren't stretching their budget for the ludicrous demands of some promoters. I don't believe Cotto should be fighting martinez for that very same reason. The other top 9 guys at 160 deserve it more over the fact he's got a name that sells tickets.

Sure is, because anyone can get caught with a good shot. Dawson is the more season battle tested fighter, and it's the same logic Pacquiao fans use when discussing Marquez...people can't have it both ways.
