Fonfara has done something lately.

Dawson and Cloud have done nothing but get their asses kicked. When's the last time either guy won a fight? 2012? 2011?

They both lost their titles to Stevenson, yet Kovalev is too good to fight these guys....ok

They haven't just lost to Stevenson. They haven't won in YEARS. Literally, neither guy has won a fight in years. Cloud lost two straight before Stevenson and hasn't won since 2011. Dawson hasn't won since 2012.

But they're lining up to fight Kovalev so they're better then him

Cloud was a former champ, and not a very good one at that. So, the Stevenson fight was not a unification fight.

What would Kovalev have to gain by fighting two guys who Stevenson already destroyed, instead of someone who gave him trouble?

TBH, I'd rather Kovalev didn't fight Fonfara next. He should fight Pascal, Chilemba, or Braehmer.

Fighting Dawson, opens the door to re negotiating Stevenson 1st off because their both Haymon fighter,and beating Dawson IMO is a significant boost to his resume considering what's already on there now. Cloud would be another former champ to add to his resume seeing both Hopkins and Stevenson beat him, it goes all way in making his argument as being in the same discussion as them.

Pascal would be a better choice than Dawson. At least Pascal is coming off a win over Bute.

And like bojangles said, Cloud is coming off two straight losses. Really, it should be three, because he got a gift over Campillo. What would Kovalev gain by beating him?

I agree, I'd love to see Kovalev fight Pascal. He's a top LHW, he's still a decent fighter, and he's coming off a relevant win, if not one that special. Not happening this year though, at least not likely. Pascal has other plans.
