Underperforming compared to last year? Sure. But compared to previous years? They are doing better. I don't think ppl realize how much Showtime used tobgetcits ads beat by HBO. I really don't think they are complaining. Their viewrship is up, and their fights and ppvs have numbers that are quite competitive with HBO all things considered.

Which card is more attractive? Canelo's or Cotto's? Floyd's or Manny's? Hopkins' or Kovalev's? I as a customer, think Showtime is doing very well in boxing. I have no idea how they are doing financially, but I am a very satisfied customer.

Because their lazy, and would rather have boxing fanboys create this mythical illusion of ducking, when they could easy be fighting someone else while waiting for Stevenson or Hopkins to unify, then step in and make the Superfight with the winner. Right now their just obsessed with taking Stevensons spot like he hasn't earned it, and are bitter because he's fatting his pockets....regardless.

          Really?

Stevenson and Kovalev were going to fight. Both sides wanted it. Does that make Stevenson lame as well?
Stevenson is in position to unify, by fighting a legend. Only fanboys are proping up Kovalev like he's more special than Hopkins. Instead of suing Haymon, why isn't Duva trying to secure a fight for her guy with someone like Dawson? He's a Haymon/HBO fighter, known commodity, and could help in terms of securing the Hopkins/Stevenson winner, but no she rather have mer guy fight a fighter Stevenson just beat and is barely top 10 after the fact....weak sauce.

It's just hilarious to see all the "I just want fights" crowd talking about nothing but views and money, when just a month ago, it was "who gives a **** about views and money" lmfao. Just proves something that I've known for a while.

I like Duva and I think she's a really intelligent reasonable promoter. The thing is she can't sell this to the fan on the back of money and views. She has to take it as a stand for the fans over what is turning off boxing fans. That's the angle she can use to win this argument because quite frankly it doesn't matter what side you are on...it's becoming unbearable to watch boxing because guys #1, #2, #3 and #4 aren't legitimately fighting each other as much. Those were the moments that unite all sides of boxing. You've got guys now getting one win and leapfrogging to like #4 on a ranking list because of their promoter and that guy gets a fight against a champion but was he a legit #4? Instead of a guy who may have been grinding out the division longer? Boxing has been absolutely ruined by ppv i'll be the first to say it, I had high hopes that CBS would bring big names back to regular tv and they haven't. Espn has tried but they aren't stretching their budget for the ludicrous demands of some promoters. I don't believe Cotto should be fighting martinez for that very same reason. The other top 9 guys at 160 deserve it more over the fact he's got a name that sells tickets.

It's becoming an unhealthy obsession of hers.
Lets see how Kovalev's television ratings do when he keeps on fighting the Cedric Agnews of the world. She knows that HBO's interest in Kovalev was at least partially based on the fact that there was a possible arch nemesis for him in Adonis Stevenson. Without Stevenson, Kovalev & Duva are left out in the cold with very little options.
Personally, I don't see why so many fans are so easily seduced by Kovalev.
Is it because of his punching power? His pigment? Or a little bit of both?
Kovalev and Deontay Wilder are both knock-out punchers with seemingly superhuman power. Both have beaten a lackluster list of opponents, but neither has had to show very much variety in terms of skill. Yet the same fans who are in love with Kovalev are skeptical of Wilder.
That statement makes me question your overall boxing IQ

Kovalev is far more skilled than Wilder. Wilder still throws wide, swinging punches. Kovalev's punches are nice and compact.

Wilder has terrible balance. Kovalev has great balance.

And their opposition isn't comparable. Kovalev has fought much better opponents. Campillo was a contender when Kovalev fought him, and Cleverly was a titleholder. What are Wilder's best wins? Scott? Liakhovich?

No, because Kovalev is clearly much better technically than Wilder, and has a better resume.
