Only networks and promoters care about numbers. As long as Stevenson gets paid, he's good. Kathy over there mad about not getting a fight, and she still won't get it. Scream, whine, moan and sue all you need to, but it doesn't look like Kovlevs getting his shot

You sound happy that they possibly won't fight, can I ask why?Comment

Because it's lame. She could be perusing plenty other fights like Pascal, or Dawson, or even Cloud to beef up her fighters resume, but she rather keep sniffing up Stevensons ass. Stevenson has made it known for a while he wanted Hopkins (the legend), but she acts like her fighter is entitled to something which he obviously isn't. She sucks, and she's making her brand suck, and she needs to just stay in her lane because if HBO wasn't sponsoring Kovolev, she'd be up **** creek without a paddle.Comment

His numbers were halved from his last fight, which took place on thanksgiving weekend. It clearly dramatically underperformed for a guy getting like 1.5 mil to fight Fonfara and whose last fight did 1.3 milLast edited by Russian Crushin; 05-30-2014, 02:36 PM.Comment

Really?
Stevenson and Kovalev were going to fight. Both sides wanted it. Does that make Stevenson lame as well?Comment

Yeah but hbo has more subscribers then showtime, its a fact! I got both though, so i can give a *** about the numbers, i think hopkins beat both and also believe hopkins/stevenson pulls more on ratings then stevenson/ kovalov...just my opinion.Comment

Only because he'll be fighting Hopkins, and I don't believe that's a PPV fight.
If he were fighting anyone else, I'm not sure he'd do much better if at all. Fonfara was his Showtime debut in his backyard. He was supposed to walk through this guy and ended up going the distance and getting dropped. The fight was only a success in that he got a win. It was a failure in every other sense.Comment

Duva just keep swinging on Adonis' nuts.
It's becoming an unhealthy obsession of hers.
Lets see how Kovalev's television ratings do when he keeps on fighting the Cedric Agnews of the world. She knows that HBO's interest in Kovalev was at least partially based on the fact that there was a possible arch nemesis for him in Adonis Stevenson. Without Stevenson, Kovalev & Duva are left out in the cold with very little options.
Personally, I don't see why so many fans are so easily seduced by Kovalev.
Is it because of his punching power? His pigment? Or a little bit of both?
Kovalev and Deontay Wilder are both knock-out punchers with seemingly superhuman power. Both have beaten a lackluster list of opponents, but neither has had to show very much variety in terms of skill. Yet the same fans who are in love with Kovalev are skeptical of Wilder.Comment
