It's ignorant to let personal feelings about the guy blind you as to his talent. He's probably the most talented fighter on the planet. Just unfortunate that his early prime years are being shelved.

i wouldn't say he is the most talented fighter on the planet, talent goes hand in hand with exceptional physically gifts, lightning speed, ferocious power, cat like reflexes, ward has none of those.

what he is, is one of the best schooled technicians ive seen in a long time, a lack of physical gifts made up for with great footwork ,timing and what looks to be a good chin. plus he has great referees too lol

The top 4 welters at Jan 2009 were Cotto, Marg, Mosley and Clottey. Latter than year after Pacquiao demolished Hatton in 2 at light welter he took on the top 4 starting with Cotto, just under 18 months later he beat all of them not losing a round.

Far better than anything Ward has achieved and this was at Pacquiao 7th weight class.

Ward didn't even take on Bute, who at the time was considered by some to be the best in the division.

Froch beat him and Ward does not get credit for Froch's win because Ward beat Froch.

Rigo beat Donaire, who is better than all the names on Ward's career on his own.

I don't think many people are saying that anymore. Fans like myself were hoping that might be the case after the Super Six, but Ward's spent the time since doing nothing.

That's fair enough, I haven't seen it as much in a while, he's mostly getting criticism at the moment and rightly so for his career decisions. He'd still easily beat pretenders like Stevenson and Kovalev IMO.
