And maybe it would not have taken him to the top 50, very hard to break that pack, but like I said he could stake a claim for the number 1 p4p spot and definitely be top 3.

Making the top 100 ATG is a great achievement and with further wins over top ranked up and comers and a cruiser weight run he would have broken the top 50.

A heavyweight title against anyone would see him make the top 25.

But he didn't do any of this, so he is lucky if he makes the top 500 at this moment.

Come on, people, we're still bringing up Bute?

Yes, it would have been nice if the fight happened. Ward was hurt, Bute decided to fight Froch, he lost. It's not like Ward was fighting anyone else instead. I don't care what Ward said, the reality is that Ward was hurt and not fighting when Bute signed to fight Froch.

You're moving the goalpost. The statement wasn't about p4p ranking. That particular statement was about building an ATG resume that stacks up with the other ATGs. And it will take more than a 50 year old Hopkins, Kovalev, Stevenson and GGG for Ward to get to that status.

And since your bringing up crusierweight and heavyweight titles all of the sudden, you clearly agree with that statement.

People are acting like Bute was Dariusz Michaelzewski or somebody. He was just a fringe contender with a padded record. I wouldn't hesitate to put money on Edwin Rodriguez knocking out that hype job.

Not entirely true bro. Ward was not injured when the Bute fight was on the table. Bute even offered a two fight deal with the first in Oakland and the second in Québec. Ward wanted none of it, saying that Bute needed to prove himself first. Then Bute struckma deal with Froch and Ward got injured.

nah....Ward is just inactive....yall must've forgot(in my RJJ voice) how he breezed through the best 168 pounders in that tourney.....he made it possible for sub par skilled 168 punders to move up and KO the division's King in one round

IMO Ward is P4P the best fighter not named Mayweather.....but due to his inactivity he should drop down a few places but definitely not off the list.....I like Ward and I believe he'll beat EVERYBODY from 68-75(except BHop of course lol)

as for the most overrated atm....I saw quite a few dudes promoting one of the most blasphemous things I've ever seen in boxing....Ruslan Provodnikov beats Floyd Mayweather Jr......oh man!!!.....the Siberian Husky beats everybody....Floyd, Pac, and Marquez, are just a few of the dudes who would get stopped by him according to many here

I didn't realize that inactivity translates to overrated now. There are plenty of overrated fighters in boxing. Ward, is most definitely not one of them.

Team GGG overrates him so bad they rethought their "we'll fight anyone from 154-168" motto
