Calzaghe had quick hands and quick feet, he'd make RJJ look off balance and RJJ wouldn't be able to lunge in with punches like he did against a drained Toney or a shot HIll. Jones would get caught.

Who said anything about Calzaghe looking special? He'd make it tough for RJJ is what I said. Jones very rarely fought any live threats, to go through the nineties at MW/SMW/LHW and not fight names like Eubank, Benn, Collins, Dariusz etc is disgraceful. In fact, Jones fought Hill, just as Hill had lost 3 belts, that's right 3 to Dariusz, yet some how we're supposed to look at the Hill fight and go "wow".

Jones' career was almost farcical at times. I respect his skills, his athletic ability and some of his achievements but his resume leaves a lot to be desired.

Same may be said for Calzaghe, but at one stage he unified all the belts against the second best SMW of his generation, beat the biggest, most dangerous puncher at 168 and beat guys like Bika who are still relevant to this day.

Jones outside of Hopkins and Toney is pretty bare. Calzaghe would be a step above any of this opponents outside of those 2 and Jones would not look like superman.

But hey this is all hypothetical lol who knows, Jones maybe have won by first punch KO.

I don't know what you're talking about. Jones' hands were much quicker and his feet were too. He was also far better defensively, had far more power, ring intelligence, everything. And forget Hopkins and Toney (yeah let's just overlook that), I'll take a mid-round KO win over Sugar Boy Malinga over 95% of Calzaghe's resume. You can ask Eubank what he thought of Malinga.

I think I pressed Calzaghe by K.O/TKO by accident, meant to click Roy.

I feel prime Roy has a rather easy time with him myself.

Not really because you're not saying anything.

I'm using points to support my argument.

You're saying "Well take level of opposition away, he looked special didn't he?"

You're not combating anything I've said with any actual points.

Prime Roy was untouchable. He would have won a decision against Joe, no question about it. It's hard to pick a KO against a guy who has never been knocked out or really hurt badly in a fight before. Joe is known for a granite beard.

Byron Mitchell and Salem dropped and had him badly hurt.
Joe was hurt badly by shot Eubank (absolutely gone and rescued by the bell if I remember correctly), Reid him out on his feet too and in all kinds of trouble throughout.

A 43yr old B-Hop had him on the deck as did 10 years past his sell by date Roy.

Good chin but far from granite.

When Joe immediately threw punches back and didn't just cover up and survive indicates him not being badly hurt in any of those occurences.

                  Dropped? Yes.

                  Badly hurt? Never.

Lost to prime Roy? Yes, easily.

                  Ko'd by prime Roy? Nope.

                  Stopped? Possibly but doubtful.

its pretty funny if you think about it, malinga just fought and beat eubank and benn then jones destroys him and no one ever talks about that win, yet calzaghe beats an old faded eubank and people pretend it's a great win....spin!

They're regurgitating what they've been told. Have no clue who these fighters are. I doubt soul survivor even ever heard of Malinga until today.
