he was still prime. he beat two 40 year olds then retired when the super six came around with great young fighters in his career division.
basically pulled the same thing floyd did when 147 became the hottest and deepest in all of boxing after beating ricky hatton.Comment

without a doubt RJJ had quicker hands and probably feet too but RJJs feet were uneducated, he was often off balance but never faced anyone good enough to catch him on that. As he slowed with age, people started catching him.I don't know what you're talking about. Jones' hands were much quicker and his feet were too. He was also far better defensively, had far more power, ring intelligence, everything. And forget Hopkins and Toney (yeah let's just overlook that), I'll take a mid-round KO win over Sugar Boy Malinga over 95% of Calzaghe's resume. You can ask Eubank what he thought of Malinga.
Calzaghe was quick and educated, a better schooled technician.
What do u want me to say about Malinga? Its agood win but nothing else, he lost to every top level fighter he faced and gave Eubank hell but this is the same eubank who lost his killer instinct and looked very reluctant to fight after what happened in Watson II.Comment

I am a big Cal fan and think he is an ATG 168 pounder. With that being said you can take ANY FIGHTER EVER and put them against a prime RJJ at 168 and they would lose. Any of them.Comment

On no level was Calzaghe the better schooled technician. At all.without a doubt RJJ had quicker hands and probably feet too but RJJs feet were uneducated, he was often off balance but never faced anyone good enough to catch him on that. As he slowed with age, people started catching him.

Second, my point was that the Eubank win was better than 95% of Calzaghe's resume. Then again, Jones has a few wins like that and a couple that are better than everything on Joe's resume.Comment
