Let Wilder fight Stiverne and we will see if he is the real deal and then Wlad and him can have a huge fight

It makes more financial sense to me

Were you into that sideshow the WBA was for a while when Wlad didn't have the belt and it was Ruiz, Valuev, Haye, Chagaev fighting for it? None of them were the champion but they all got to play him in commercials.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing. Some of those fights were fun (and some just funny). Wilder vs anyone is potentially funny.

Doesn't change the fact that Wilder's "mandatory status" is a far bigger joke than Leapai's was and we haven't even finished whining about that. If Wlad doesn't grab that belt right now it could turn into another sideshow championship for years.

Wlad/Pulev
Stiverne/Wilder

Winners fight each other. Then maybe have Fury/Chisora and Jennings/Perez in the mix as well

At least Wlad has a couple fairly intriguing options, and there is some movement at the top of the division finally.

Vitali retiring is a great thing for the division, I know his fans won't like that opinion but Wlad and Vitali having a total stranglehold tag teaming the division had gotten very stale, now Wlad will have to deal with the guys Vitali would have been holding down.

Wlad fights enough so it does look good for some possibly competitive fights for him.

Yea, I just hope King realizes this opportunity since this is his only relevant guy and puts in the work to get things made. Or that he realizes he is old and just takes what he can get (unlikely I say).


I totally agree about Wlad this last year plus has been junk but the light is appearing at the end of the tunnel. At least I hope

Wilder is only the mandatory because the WBC said so, even though he has virtually no wins of note. If they end up saying Wlad can fight Stiverne first if they work at a deal, I don't see what the problem is; in both cases people are just deferring to the WBC for a sense of who is deserving.

If you set aside WBC rulings, Wlad clearly has a much stronger resume than Wilder and is more deserving of a title fight in that sense.

Wilder worked his way up?????? He has never fought a guy in the top 10 or even the top 20. The best guy he ever beat was rated #30. He worked his way up on mostly hand picked bums. He doesn't deserve to be the mandatory. Wlad is much more likely to get the fight because he is a proven champion and he is important and brings much more money to the champion than Wilder does. I am not saying Wilder is not a good fighter. He probably is good and maybe the best heavyweight in the world. I am just saying he has never defeated any fighter worth a damn and until he does he doesn't deserve a title shot. If I have overlooked some outstanding fighter Wilder has defeated please tell me who that would be.

Of course he didn't want to fight his brother. Name one fighter that ever fought his own brother. It's unheard of and unreasonable to ask any fighter to do. Now that his brother is retired he wants that belt and he is about 100 times more deserving of a chance to win it than Mr. never beaten anybody good yet Wilder.
