In an interview with Fight Hype, Floyd killed the idea by saying “Everybody’s talking about the title he’s the mandatory. He can have the belt! A belt don’t make me. A belt doesn’t define Floyd Mayweather.” It only meant one thing, as I’ve been saying long before, that the fight is not going to happen!"

I have never seen a fighter get to be a mandatory by beating such weak opposition as Wilder has. I have checked out everybody he ever fought and not one guy was rated any higher than number 30 by boxrec. Wilder might be the best heavyweight in the world but he has not defeated any good fighters and does not deserve to be the mandatory. Wlad probably will leap frog Wilder because Wlad is a true champion who has defeated so many top heavyweights for so many years that there is no doubt he is the best. The worst heavyweight Wlad ever fought was ranked higher than the best heavyweight Wilder ever fought. Wlad would be a much higher paying fight and beating Wlad would bring 10 times the prestige beating Wilder would bring. Don't worry, if Wlad wins he will fight Wilder. He has never avoided a fight with any top contenders.

It makes more financial sense to me
How can anyone be against this?
I don't think Pulev is that good, Wlad will beat him most likely and will probably have to fight someone else while waiting for the Stiverne-Wilder winner.
The fights are great, I just predict this doesn't all play out until late next year if we are looking for a unification.

Is Wlad even ranked by the WBC now? NO!!! Sure he is the unified champion but he never showed intrest in becoming undisputed with the WBC before(i know he didnt want to fight his bother) and that is fine but he has no leg to stand on to jump over fighters who are ranked by the WBC
Belt holders are not ranked by other sanctioning bodies once they hold one of the four titles.

Vitali retiring is a great thing for the division, I know his fans won't like that opinion but Wlad and Vitali having a total stranglehold tag teaming the division had gotten very stale, now Wlad will have to deal with the guys Vitali would have been holding down.
