Wlad was never in the WBC rankings as Vitali had the title, Wilder worked his way up and earned his position. So he logically is the next in line. Is Wlad even ranked by the WBC now? NO!!! Sure he is the unified champion but he never showed intrest in becoming undisputed with the WBC before(i know he didnt want to fight his bother) and that is fine but he has no leg to stand on to jump over fighters who are ranked by the WBC
yea,,,why on earth should the universally recognized champ at 38 yrs old leap frog a guy who hasn't beaten a top 30 heavyweight. makes no sense at all

because wilder has been named the official mandatory already. i agree that was a poor choice, but flip flopping at this point would be downright embarrassing. the wbc has to respect its own decisions or nobody else will, which means they should give the man the title shot they promised him. makes perfect sense to me.
these alphabet titles are a mess as it is, imagine if stiffing mandatory challengers of the title shots they have already been promised became common practice as well. the sport would turn into a freaking train wreck.
regardless if wilder deserved to be named mandatory or not in to begin with the wbc has to honor it at this stage, period.

id rather see wilder fight but unification champ vs champ makes sense rankings or not
Wilder might die. I don't like Wlad, he's boring to me. But Wlad would probably stop Wilder within 4-6 rounds. It might happen sooner. Wilder hasn't beaten anyone, ever. His biggest fight was Charlie Zelenoff who's an internet troll and it's not even a real bout.
How is Wilder supposed to get more legit competition when the heavyweight division lacks in elite fighter. Their may be 10 or 15 elite heavyweight fighter, if that! What is the best test for Wilder? Outside Wlad, Haye, Fury (though far from elite in my eyes), Stiverne. ..

yea,,,at as much as I think wlad should get it ahead of wilder it would be better if wlad gave pulev his shot and then take the winner of wilder/stiverne. I think king is going to put a damper on those plans tho
