Jim Lampley doesnt think Pac style would trouble Floyd.

A lot of people would discredit this win you're right.

And this mainly because Floyd had the opportunity to fight Manny in his prime but didn't.

History will remember Manny as "over the hill" after the Marquez KO.

I see Marquez comparisons but he took three fights to properly work Pacquiao out, and he was losing the 4th until "the punch".
That's what I'm saying, Pacquiao moves in a linear line punching flurries but it's not going to be effective because Mayweather will simply bounce back and Pacquiao is now out of range and is still in Floyd's punching range. Just like a fish he bit on the hook and is now in Mayweather's pocket. Mayweather hits harder than Bradley that's for sure and Pacquiao got his head snapped back plenty of times by the weaker puncher.

Also talk to Maidana about Floyd not being a hard hitter when everytime he got punched in the stomach he backed up and start firing his jab to keep Mayweather away and then bum rush and clinch him to get off his dirty shots. Many see Maidana doing that to control the fight but what I saw was a man with no other options.

Marquez out-boxed Pacquiao every time they fought from the first fight on, the only fight where I seen him totally outclassed was the same fight he put Pacquiao to sleep. Marquez does not have the best legs but he does have counters and he uses combinations in his counters because of his limited footwork. Pacquiao got hit with that overhand right since 2004 and thoroughly out-boxed. Now that was the judges rewarding a fighter the decision because of his marketability at the time. That punch showed why Marquez made Pacquiao avoid him and move up the weight divisions against tailor made opposition until the fight became popular because of Mayweather disintegration of Marquez.

I like Lampley when he's NOT in front of the cameras...he's actually unbiased and says it like it is when he ain't reading scripts from HBO.

There was another interview floating around after Floyd-Canelo where he wasn't all up on Pacquiao's nut sack and gave Floyd major props, something that does NOT happen on air!

Anyway, how can you say that (in bold) when their entire careers have been based on coming forward while the majority of Floyd's has been boxing off the backfoot?

I watched Floyd get tagged by Mosley and Ortiz fighting on the front foot, he's not some invisible man who can't get hit. Every come-forward figter gets hit even those with good defence like Chavez Sr and Golovkin and to do it against Pacquiao is not the best plan imo.
Ok I'll do the same then.. I highly disagree with that (the bolded). Floyd didn't get caught because he was fighting of the front foot, if you recall he spent the rest of the fight being the aggressor and he didn't get tagged again. IMO he got caught because he waited too long and allowed Mosley to set up that huge right hand. He made the adjustment and spent the rest of the fight being first.

If ever a thread could illustrate just how fooking gay floyd's fanbase is, then this would be a fine example.
