Can you imagine what Pacman's Left Hand would have done to Floyd's face had he been fighting him tonight?

    Carnage.

I wonder all of this and Maidana won the first 6 rounds and round 8 at least. This fight truly proved to me that compubox or whatever the system is for counting landed punches can't always be taken seriously. Maidana landed so many shots to the body and Maidana actually had some good defense in this fight, moving his head and blocking shots...
What I wonder, as I do with all of Chinos fights, is how different would it be if the man worked on improving his stamina!!!!

      • It's funny. There's so much discussion over the quantitative aspect of tonight's fight (the scoring) and not nearly enough about the qualitative.

If you look at the three previous opponents who have been perceived as presenting Floyd with his biggest challenges in the past decade (De La Hoya, Mosley and Cotto) and compare Floyd's performance in their fights to his fight against Maidana tonight, I think you'll note some differences. The biggest in my mind: Floyd's adjustments simply weren't able to confer a significant enough advantage to give him a convincing edge in the fight and absent a willingness to push his limits and take the risks required to establish dominance, he put in a performance that left enough room for doubt about who really won the fight.

Here are some thoughts from an admitted Floyd fan: Floyd is the best pure boxer in the world. Even at 37, his skill, conditioning and relative health mean he's not going to be outboxed. Period. But against the rare breed of aggressive fighter who isn't going to be intimated and isn't scared to be knocked out (somebody like Marcos Maidana), Floyd isn't capable or willing to go outside his comfort zone. Is it age? Is it the comfortable lifestyle?

Part of me wishes Floyd wasn't undefeated. My favorite fighter, Bernard Hopkins, has losses on his record. They simply don't matter. Bernard has repeatedly fought (and beaten) guys who were supposed to end his career and even as he approaches the age of 50, he's still gunning for fights many expect him to lose.

I can't help but think that if Floyd wasn't so attached to that meaningless 0, a lot of the questions about how great he truly is would be answered more convincingly than he answered Maidana's challenge tonight.

          That's his fault, not Floyds

All the Floyd haters are talking about how Maidana beat Floyd's body up but if i'm correct it was Mayweather who hurt Maidana to the body like 3 times in the fight. Maidana didn't ever really hurt floyd to the body but Floyd made him crouch to his knees almost at a point with a jab to the body and Chino was visibly griping to the belly at a few different points. Floyd is the one who did damaging work to the body in this fight.
You have to remember...some of these idiots hold Floyd to some crazy ass super high standard of he's not allowed to get hit or something. Chino fought his heart out tonight. Got tired and faded. The blueprint is there, but if you do not have the stamina to achieve it then it doesn't matter.

I can tell you that Floyd landed the more meaningful punches all night long. Chino never managed to hurt Floyd. A lot of you need to stop counting punches to the arms. Floyd stayed in the pocket took some and gave some. How about we commend these fighters for a good fight instead of bashing someone all the damn time? Put your bias bull**** to the side for once. I had Mayweather winning by 2 rounds. Remember effective punches matter not just throwing a bunch of punches wildly. If you are throwing 8-10 punches and only landing 2 you are not going to win vs Mayweather. Chino should have stayed behind his jab all night long and mixed it in with the mauling tactic if he really wanted to win but he does not have the stamina to get it done. 46-0. On to the next.

A inspired Pacman is probably the only fighter left for Floyd to cause problems like chino did tonight.

Yup clear as day Maidana won or at Least a draw. Maidana gave him the hurt in the hurt game.

Oh I bet you Would have loved to see Floyd fight Margs with bricks in his gloves. GB hasnt worked with TR since 2008, around the time Floyd was a free agent and started with working with GB because Arum never paid him for the Judah fight, fans thinking the Pacquaio could ever happen under these circumstances were fooling themselves. Especially to think he would turn around right away and make the promoter who just robbed him 30 million dollars for a fight he doesnt even need to be involved in because it was already sold to the public. Cotto in his prime was under Arum WITH Mayweather, simple research and a good memory not wasted on drugs will show you that Mayweather called out Cotto, but Arum said he wasnt ready and never had intentions of putting any of his PPV stars (Mayweather, DLH, Cotto) together to fight. See how simple logic prevails...

I tell you...I am amazed that it was Chino who actually put the Blueprint in place that I had been advocating for years. personally, i didn't think the guy would have the stamina to do it, but he did. And...I believe a lot of Chino's success was not only Garcia's, but Ariza'a, too.

Chino was a Machine for most of the fight. In fact, his stamina looked a lot better against Mayweather than it did against Broner - and I figured that would be the case for Ariza had been working with him longer. I was very impressed that Chino came storming back at the end even though Mayweather popped him real Good a few times. The guy has great heart and great trainers.

Pacquiao, Bradley, Provodnikov - they would all put on a better fight against Mayweather than Chino. So...Mayweather will not face them. Especially after tonight.

                  Mark my words.

                  • BIg Up Money May! Rematch is in order! Maidaina is a beast, but needs to be 10lb. lighter with a stronger core. He hates getting body shots as much as he loves giving them. He definitely has a chance to beat Mayweather if he had more stamina.

IFloyd undoubtedly took risks tonight, give Maidana some damn credit, the reason it was close was because hes a warrior. Floyd stood toe to toe for 10 rounds, he asserted himself in rounds 9-11 throwing combinations and won all most of his rounds in the pocket. Not moving.
