Yes, but the result would be a New Cold War. Schaefer/Haymon start their own company or move to Mayweather Promotions and they don't put on fights with EITHER Top Rank or Golden Boy. And all the current GBP fighters they try to take with them will be busy with litigation and out of the ring for several months. People actually WANT this to happen?

The ONLY good thing that could result is Ellerbee being demoted, as Schaefer will surely take his role.

It's going to happen anyway whether Oscar fires Schaefer or not. Schaefer is ready to bolt along with most of GBP's stable that's signed with Al Haymon. It's only a matter of time.

They're smoking out the competition, signing as many free agents and big name fighters as they can.

Yes. Richard Schaefer is a banker. It's his job to lie and make money. Backstab, pretend to be ignorant to facts, etc...as long as that $ keeps coming in. This is boxing. Not a bank. The best fights aren't being made for two reasons: Schaefer and Arum.

The only times CEOs get dumped are when the company isn't doing well or when the CEO gets caught doing something illegal. People calling Hoya ****** as a matter of fact for wanting to get rid of Scheafer are being naive. As if they know more about the inner workings of the company than Hoya himself.

Schaefer needs to get off the "never" do business with anyone else position. While talking crap to other promo companies is normal it should never hinder doing business at all.

Quick question to those who would know, why did HBO and GBP split? Was it dates or money allotted for fights(maybe not worth the $ paid out ie Berto)? Could they possibly get in the same situation with SHO?

Question to ask is,

if Schaefer/Showtime/Haymon are so wonderful and have been amassing profits from the Mayweather fights, where's the beef? How come many of their fighters are on a long layoff? Khan, Guerrero, Berto, Matthysse, etc., guys with fan-friendly styles, are now fighting once a year. Do you think TR will let these guys rot without fighting? Where is Peterson, Lopez, Charlo, etc.? Why are their stars not fighting each other?

TR's Alvarado, Marquez, Pacquiao, Provo, Rios, win or lose they fight each other. GBP stars have to have tune ups before fighting another star again. Look at them. Broner vs nobody. Matthysse vs nobody. Garcia's last fight was with someone.... See the huge difference?

Ending the cold war means nothing to GBP. Their stars don't even fight each other, let alone against TR fighters.
