If boxing is about doing damage, Clottey should've won the Pacquaio fight?

This was always the factor that decided Morales vs Barrera for me . When Barrera hit Morales he buckled him. But Morales landed more and had the better ring generalship . I thought Morales won

    First fight BTW

Right but you've not said anything.

      Damage isn't a scoring criteria, that's a fact.

However, Pacquiao did admit that Clottey was one of the hardest punchers he has ever faced in the ring besides Miguel Cotto. Check the source below at 3:02 of this video.

Ts is confused, when the "HBO" team mention they gave a fighter a round because they felt they did more damage they only resort to that when it's a,closely active round and it's hard to split them... There are many factors in fights for scoring in different scenarios.

A bunch of punch counters in here, maybe you guys could replace those clickers that they use in the amateurs. Go to your local amateur club and get involved, they can never have too many really good punch counters around those kinds of places.......... Rockin'

Just because a fighter has a marked up face, it does not mean he was the most damaged. Pacquiao has always been one to get marked up or cut. Pacquiao damaged Clottey more to the body then anything Clottey could conjure up. It was a comprehensive win.

What's the point of this silly thread? Pacman beat Clottey, hands down.

I was at the fight in Jerry Jones' Death Star, and had the benefit of the monstrous HD screen to watch the bout.

Clottey was content to cover up and allow Pacman to hit him almost at will; he barely put up a fight. I can only assume he was there for a paycheck and nothing else. When he DID land a blow once in a while, it landed with an audible "thud" and was certainly felt by Pac, but there weren't enough punches thrown or landed to score enough points for Clottey to have won this fight.

                      End of story.
