There's a reason people go into specifics and that bc they matter. Yea he's only going up 8 pounds but it's relevant bc he's pretty small at middleweight and is going up to fight probably the biggest smw in the division and will likely be outweighed by around 15-20lbs on fight night. That's a huge equalizer in this fight. Same as when he fought Martinez. Martinez was clearly the more skilled but Chavez had a huge size advantage and that almost ended up winning him the fight.

You're clearly a Golovkin hater and I just don't get all the hate some people have for him. Yea some people take it overboard with the praise but most people call him for what he is an above average fighter who is damn exciting. Out of those who know what they're talking about nobody is saying he is invincible, he's not top 10 p4p ranked by really anyone. Still, the guy has done nothing but impress every time he steps in the ring. People may criticize his level of opposition but its not terrible, he is fighting contenders, just not elite competition, and he absolutely dominates. Its not like he's going life and death with these guys and he stops every single one of them. I don't recall him losing a round since his American debut. He is a complete gentleman and respects the sport more than mostly anyone else in. I don't get how all this adds up to him being "the biggest hypejob." Now he's taking a challenge in moving up and fighting Chavez and still people are hating, what do you want this guy to do?
ill say ggg is a hypejob just as golovikins fans are gonna say chavez jr is a bum.....this is war,and the battlelines have been drawn.....pick a side.cuz we will all find out july 19,regardless of weight...ggg took the challenge, now its upto ggg team to figure out if they want a rehydration clause...if not theres nothing anyone can say on the matter...if he doesnt add a hydration clause kudos for ggg on taking the challenge, and if he wins iam sure he will get full credit from everyone on nsb...

This fight can be a FIGHT OF THE CENTURY if both come to fight, both have a attitude to brawl, both can punch, both are HIT,GET HIT AND HIT AGAIN type of fighter,etc....; I CAN'T WAIT!!! This can be a HEAVIER deja vu of CORRALES-CASTILLO.

Well. That's how he won most of his 345 fights in the ams. Off the backfoot.
As he explained himself recently: "I got bored fighting off the backfoot throughout my amateur career."

Easy fight for Golovkin. Chavez has not the skills and not the power to beat GGG. His size wont help him, he will get chopped to size.

Golovkin puts a much more severe beating on Chavez than Martinez did. He will KO him with a body shot before 8 rounds. They are at opposite ends of the skill spectrum. As for size...remember Roy Jones Jr vs John Ruiz?
