As emotional fan boys who don't like certain fighters know the patternYeah, there's a limit to what's reasonable and/or sensible from an HBO perspective.
They already got jobbed themselves forking out $3 million over the odds for Ward-Rodriguez (another Haymon fighter).
Don't overlook that Stevenson wants Hopkins, he's always calling him out. It's always mumbling excuses when Kovalev's name is brought up.
As boxing fans we all know the pattern.Comment

So blame Stevenson for entertaining a more lucrative offer on a rival network? You're a fucking idiot.Comment

A few of us predicted on here this happening as soon as Adonis signed on with Haymon. Depressingly inevitable.
God, I miss the days when Showtime made the fights the hardcore fans loved, rather than exist as a tool for Haymon to manipulate matters and deprive us of better fights.
Does Espinoza do anything besides taking it up the ass from Haymon, Schaefer and Mayweather?Comment

I disagree. Many consider unifying the WBC/WBO/IBF enough to declare an undisputed champ. If Hopkins collects Shumenov's belt and then beats Stevenson he'll have those three aforementioned titles, the lineal title, and the Ring title. I don't think there would be any qualms anointing Hopkins as Undisputed.
Yeah, Kovalev will be out there with the WBO belt, but he wont be able to get in on the action unless he does a 'Stevenson' and signs with Al Haymon.Comment

So this has to be Haymon telling Stevenson, "Make the Fonfara fight on Showtime, I'll get Espinosa to pay more than HBO was going to anyway, then you can cement your legacy by finally being the one who KOs B-Hop!"
Then Haymon tells Espinosa, "Bid more than HBO, make the Stevenson-Fonfara fight, then we actually have a marketable fight for a 50-year-old Bernard Hopkins!"
Ugh, when is the GBP split going to happen? At least then we will have more interesting things to talk about.Comment

That's how the free market is supposed to work. You offer your services and see who the highest bidder is.Comment
