BoxingScene.com reported earlier today that WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (23-1, 20KOs) retained the services of very influential boxing adviser Al Haymon. Stevenson will be back in action on May 24th at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. He will face top contender Andrzej Fonfara. HBO, who Stevenson has a multi-fight deal with, wants him to take part in a unification fight with WBO champion Sergey Kovalev (23-0-1, 20KOs), who faces Cedric Agnew on March 29th.

I'll be the first one to unify the titles [at 175-pounds]. The only thing that will change is that I'm going to get paid what I'm worth. I want to fight with Kovalev but I'm not going to fight with him for $1 million dollars. A fight of this magnitude is worth a lot more than that

THey'd only match it if there was a guaranteed fight with Kovalev.
From there, they have to hammer out his Pay. Whether they're pinching or he's asking to much could affect it

I LOL'd at this. This is clearly Showtime trying to hurt HBO. As a previous poster mentioned, the end game looks like Hopkins-Stevenson. Pressure is on HBO after its ridiculous March-May schedule.

How hard is HBO going to kick themselves if Kovalev-Stevenson happens on Showtime?
