He never signed to fight Kirkland. It was NEVER signed. Kirkland wanted more money cause he was injured. GBP approached Kirkland knowing he was injured then ran a smear campaign saying he priced himself out to make Canelo look better. But they never explained why Kirkland priced himself out.

Nope. Kirkland got injured during the Molina fight and GBP knowingly so still approached him.

I'm not sure if ever Trout was a bigger threat than Lara back in time just to win Cotto. But, today. Why Canelo choose Angulo instead of Lara when Lara won?, Why now he is chasing the grandpas Cotto and Martinez?. He is avoiding Lara with excuse number 4 about the revenues when a fight with Lara well promoted could generate decent revenues as well when he fought Trout or Mosley etc.
The problem Canelo will have in the future is that he has been avoiding Lara and big fights with the exception of Mayweather for a long time, so the excuses are not credible anymore over the time in the near future.

My tune is the same. For me Trout never was a threat just because he defeated the grandpa Cotto. Canelo's team knew they will win Trout. But I don't want to discuss Canelo-Trout fight. Instead I'm focusing in Canelo-Lara or Canelo-Kirkland. For me CAnelo is chasing all the grandpas but those won't mean he is fighting the top. The only exception was Mayweather who is an honor to loose with him and this doen't count.
Also you can't compare the options for Lara and the options for Canelo. Canelo has all the options, Lara no. LAra is fighting witchever is willing to face him and Smith was the only one to accept the fight. Canelo is ducking the good fights and is chasing the grandpas. Remember, Lara went to Canelo asking for a fight and Canelo answered he has to wait until he clean the division of bums or grandpas

And I told you that no. That Trout was not back in time better than Lara and he was choosen because they thought he was easier than Lara to fight. Canelo is hiding from Lara since Vanes fight. But at that time the excuses had some more credibility due to the bad fight with Vanes. But how back of time is not my concern let us focus in the present. Today, our main focus conversation, is clear that Canelo is ducking Lara because had choose Angulo and nor Cotto/Martinez, by far for me lower opponents than Lara in the present. The excuse of the revenues is not acceptable because so many people wants to see real fights and for most of people Cotto is a good name but is an old done grandpa. I have no doubt that Canelo will win Cotto or Martinez as well I had no doubt he would win Mosley who is another grandpa. Lets do real fights, with real opponents.
