Lara is a paper champion. So technically, Canelo isn't 'ducking' a champion here. Canelo LOST his belt because he lost to Floyd Mayweather. They then recently gave Lara the belt Canelo just lost to Floyd. What a joke! Lara has not earned the belt yet.

Lara is regarded by many as the best junior middleweight in the world. If Canelo is ducking Lara (and I'm not saying he is), he's not just ducking a champion, he's arguably ducking the best.

Technically, Lara is Floyd's mandatory but we all know Floyd won't fight him, so Lara is the rightful WBA champion in my book.

Those grandpas has good names but are not anymore a threat. They are in the path to retirement only looking for another couple of millions, but their motivation and their physical conditions are not the same. For me the Trout winning over Cotto and the future winning of Canelo over Cotto or Martinez don't represent that Canelo will be at the top of the division. Lara or Kirkland also can win Cotto.

You have a reading comprehension problem. I didn't said Trout is a grandpa. I said he won a grandpa Cotto, so for me, this is not a great achievement, as well is not a great achievement when Canelo will win Cotto. When you win a fight against Cotto, Mosley, Martinez for me is not a big achievement. That's what I said. Can you understand now my idea or will continue saying things about what I said wrong?

losses to williams-a win in my book(coming off a devastating ko loss)
draws to molina- a loss in my book(coming off a win)

those are laras latest and most important fights, notice the trend?
he didnt beat a decent opponent coming off a win (gift decisions not included)...
and yet lara fans have the nerve to come and criticize canelos oposition...
canelo is only 23 but in a couple of years he will have much better resume than lara..

I'm not sure if ever Trout was a bigger threat than Lara back in time just to win Cotto. But, today. Why Canelo choose Angulo instead of Lara when Lara won?, Why now he is chasing the grandpas Cotto and Martinez?. He is avoiding Lara with excuse number 4 about the revenues when a fight with Lara well promoted could generate decent revenues as well when he fought Trout or Mosley etc.
The problem Canelo will have in the future is that he has been avoiding Lara and big fights with the exception of Mayweather for a long time, so the excuses are not credible anymore over the time in the near future.

Canelo lost to Trout. So technically Floyd fought a paper champ too. And let's not forget how Canelo got his WBC title.
