You both seem to ignore the fact most sparring partners are paid help and there to be hit on and rarely hit back...they are there to help you practice a gameplan not to practice their own....any number of things can go wrong in sparring...many fights have been delayed because of this and many boxers have gone into fights injured from sparring sessions and have lost fights they should've won. This ain't FNF the money people aren't going to put their guys in danger. It's as simple as that.
Now it's a weight issue..Cotto fought clottey at 146, came in weighing 145.8 and had to drop 8 ounces to fight Pacquaio next..at 154 the same result would take place. Cotto is too open to uppercuts and rights to fight a guy with speed and power unless they fix that he will have the same result against Martinez...oh btw i'm a cotto fan and the dude is too small to be at 154 much less 160.
