    That's some Metro 2033 **** right there.

Vitali is a badass. Not going to pretend to know who's in the right here, but to be down on the streets during all this is straight badass.

No, he's on one side of the people...

I agree with Vitali's views, on Europe, reform etc. However, I will not use that as an excuse to say Vitali is right... or is the "good guy" in this. He has a political agenda which he is pursuing, not defending the people. Many people in Ukraine do not support his views

They're getting ready for civil war here at home. "Infowars.com" Get informed.
Rodney king scenario was pretty ugly... imagine if o.j a national football hero got convicted. it would have made Rodney king riots look small. he can thank Rodney for him not getting charged in criminal court. he was guilty in in civil court though.

I respect Vitali for standing up for what he believes in, but it seems very dangerous if you ask me. But who are we to wish he stays away from it, we do not share his passion on the subject, it would just be a shame if he came under any serious harm during these riots.

Respect though, he is there for what he believes in in spite of no doubt putting a target on his back in doing so.

Kinda this ^. Vitali has an agenda, which might not be the same as that of those who are backing and funding the Ukrainian uprising. I personally think that Vitali genuinely believes he is doing the best thing for himself and his country, but whether he is or not, only time will tell. What is certain is that there are powerful economic and political interests backing both sides in the conflict who are probably less concerned with the needs of the Ukrainian populace than their own power and wealth.

Call me a cynic, but when the dust settles I expect the 'people' of Ukraine will find their lives substantially unchanged but possibly with a different set of faces on the news.

Also FWIW I find it disturbing that Western European political figures have actually endorsed and even attended the protests - in effect helping to destabilise a soveregn state and potentially undermine the ********ic process in a way that would never be condoned in their own countries.

My understanding of this situation is that there were no rioters and no riot until the authorities used force to try and disperse a peaceful protest.

Last year I watched a BBC news report which showed Vitali helping to prevent a riot from occurring by addressing both police and demonstrators over a microphone, which I believe was given to him by the police themselves, and urging both sides to keep things peaceful.

That was a much smaller demonstration though. When an event the size of this one starts getting ugly, there's nothing that one man can do to prevent it from happening. Not even a man as big and well respected as Vitali.

You're kinda looking at things very narrowly. You're probably comfortable in that little box you call home wherever youre living because you're happy with your government. If you're American I feel sorry for you, you guys believe in their politics and they never deliver they're ruining your country to satisfy a few elite. If you're not American, can't believe you don't at least understand

The rioters are killing their public servants and destroying their own property. Their violence is mad and misdirected.

Your post is really funny. So many make these stereotypical comments. If i told you i was very happy with my government, that as man, i am self-governed, you do not understand what i write.

i hold fast to the assertion the rioters are not achieving much, if anything, positive, nor shall they. They need to learn how to make that State less relevant. But, instead of learning, those men shout, throw, hit and burn.
