Sorry, you guys are just making excuses! So what you are saying is that
    - A 154 CHAMP, should avoid fighting another fighter at 154
    - The same fighter, can avoid his mandatory (Manny) at 147
    - Floyd though has every right to cherry pick everyone from 130-140 to take on Floyd after 0, 1 or max 2 fights at WW
You might have been praying for Pacquiao not to fight Cotto, but it isn't about you or people fihting some silly internet war, it's about Pacquiao's team wanted and they wanted Cotto, but not without a catchweight. It wasnt about the money, it was about making Pacquiao look impressive again (as he hadn't since the Clottey fight). It was ok for hi to pass on someone he destroyed, which apparently weight had nothing to do with, right?

I agree if Mayweather isn't going to fight at 154lbs, he should drop the belts. But GGG isn't a 154lbs fighter (isn't he a middlewight champion?), so your point moot. A champion shouldn't avoid his mandatory, that I accept. But, how does a fighter who hasn't fought or beat a top ranked welterweight become a mandatory after beating Brandon Rios (and don't even get me started on Amir Khan!)? Shows that sanctioning bodies and their rules are pretty much meaningless in the face of big money.

I'll say it again. Mayweather vs GGG is a guilty pleasure as a boxing fan, but not essential- unless GGG makes it so (drop his belt and start campaigning af 154lbs).

What does Floyd have to gain from beating someone that doesn't even have a solid resume yet? Some E-props from the hardcore fans that actually know who GGG is?
Why did floyd fight guerrero, ortiz, maybe kahn, etc? Those 3 bastards combined have no resume whatsoever...reason he will never fight ggg is because he could lose. Floyd doesnt have a legacy, he just has fought for money. Floyd will never be an atg only a HOF because of money made in prize fighting

        Did Floyd fight Khan yet?

Guerrero has actually beat some quality dudes so not sure where he fits in this equation. Ortiz was probably the best person available for him to fight at the time and he's of Mexican descent AND he actually fights in a Weight Class that Mayweather does for one. If it's that much trouble for GGG then he should go down and campaign at 154, 147 to give validity to his wish or simply stfu

Cotto for Manny was just money. I got that, everyone got that. You didn't? There were other options there at a better weight that meant more. Who wanted to see that fight? NOBODY!!!

As for the weight? You realize that Manny never fought at 154, right? Nobody is asking Floyd to go up to 160. GGG wants to come drain himself and come down. Floyd is the champ at 154. Should be no problem. Nothing you say can change that! NOTHING! Just think of Chad Dawson if you think that GGG will be OK with losing the weight. Not as easy as it sounds. It will not be the same MW GGG coming into the ring BUT I'm laughing at Floyd fans running scared from that.

Rankings: Man, Floyd fans live and die by them to try to legitimize Floyd's cherry picks. Now you can't comprehend how Manny became Floyd's mandatory? Are you serious?

          Floyd fans:
          "Ortiz was ranked high"
          "Guerrero was ranked top 5"
"..... but Marquez was a top P4P fighter"
if fight happens "Khan was #3 ranked"

Who are the quality dudes Guerrero beat? How many divisions below welter?

                • 22 pages of hilarity. Yep, Floyd is a duck for not fighting the MW CHAMPION of the world when he is a 147 pounder. Definitely.

Well its becoming clichéd but JMM was a 135lb guy fighting the WW champ of the world, so FLoyd is clearly not as brave as JMM and is a duck, cow, or chicken.

He can be any farmyard animal you want to call him.
And don't forget the hardly small detail of GGG coming down a division, something Floyd has never done or would do.

Floyd didn't come down to 144, let alone 140 for JMM. As soon as there is a possibility Floyd isn't favourite, he don't take the fight. And when he is favourite against someone like Pac he finds reasons not to take the fight as well.
                    Might as well retire Floyd.

GGG has only been fighting at 160. The whole 154-168 talk is just for buzz at this point, and a bit of wishful thinking, but everyone and their crusty grandma knows Floyd isn't fighting GGG at 154. If the MW champ and other top opponents at 160 would actually fight GGG then there would be less time for this 154-168 talk.
