Manny is NOT as big as Floyd. Manny went as high as he did against Margarito and realized during training camp that he shouldn't go higher and that 147 is as high as he should go. 147 isn't Manny's best weight yet he is fighting at that weight. Now, if Manny would be avoiding a 154 fighter that was willing to come down to 147 then I would say the same about him.

If you are champ for a particular division, you shouldn't be refusing anyone.

May I remind you that Floyd is the 154 champ and GGG is not telling Floyd to come up, as Floyd's opponents need to do to fight him (Khan, Marquez, Guerrero, Hatton,..... ) but rather, he is saying that he is willing to drain himself down to 154 and fight at 154.

Roy Jones did it once to get the title against the weakest holder. Didn't mean much more than that. Roy went back down after that because he knew that that is not his division. Floyd on the other hand has fought 3 times at 154 and proved that he can handle it there. Floyd doesn't need to go up to 160 to fight a MW. Apples and oranges!

Not really. The point (which you missed on wilfully ignored) is boxers are what they are regardless of where they fight. Regardless of Mayweather fighting at 154lbs three times, he is essentially a welterweight fighting above his division (as was Jones Jr). He went into the Canelo fight at 150lbs. Pacquiao went into his fight against Marquez at 150lbs. Pacquiao's team wanted that Cotto fight, but walked from when he wouldn't play patsy again. Pacquiao had already beaten Cotto why not just fight under the weight limit and just come in as you are? Pacquiao would've been the same, 150lbs on fight night. Only Cotto would've been different and they didn't want that, which is fine by everyone. The trouble is, you can't make excuses for Pacquiao and detract from Mayweather at the same time.

It's obvious that Mayweather isn't as effective at 154lbs, much like Pacquiao wasn't, but yet people think he he could beat a middleweight coming down, who will be a middleweight when he hits that ring. That's some kind of compliment. Either way, every fight at 154lbs for Mayweather is him moving up becaused he's never weighed that much. Not on the scales and not in the ring, so stop being disingenuous about what fighting GGG means. Again, it'd be a guilty pleasure but if it doesn't happen, it's no big deal because Mayweather wouldn't be doing anything any current welterweight wouldn't do. If Mayweather decided to campaign at 154lbs from now on, and GGG decided to move down indefinitely, then he'd have some 'splainin to do.

This is pro boxing as it is today. Most guys at the top are or have been hypocrites at one time or another. Especially with money involved.

It says a lot about GGG that he will continualy reference fighting floyd but not andre ward. I can only imagine what NSB posters would log on and post if wilder, ward, floyd, broner, etc, continued to angle for a fight with a smaller guy on the other network rather than a guy on his own network.

What is truly interesting is how the same people who say ward is the real p4@ #1 and not floyd in every other thread now say GGG is calling floyd out because he is the best and he just wants to prove himself.

HBO should be angry. Why does GGG keep mentioning a guy who isn't on HBO? Unless of course this is just done to get attention and raise GGG's profile.

GGG there are plenty of brothers currently employed by HBO that you can fight, including the guy most of your fans say is the true p4p best. You can fight him without having to worry about the cold war between promoters or networks.
