Right but could Hopkins have made 154? I doubt it.

Plus, Hopkins had been as low as 157 against Trinidad. Golovkin's not been as low as 157 ever. (Never been lower than 159 as a professional)

Hopkins regularly weighed in at 158 as a pro. Golovkin never has.

There is absolutely nothing to suggest Golovkin can make 154. The lowest he's been in over a decade is 159 lbs.

    • Mayweather-Golovkin would have more PPV than Khan or Maidana.

Floyd is the money fight. Can you blame the guy for wanting to fight Floyd instead of Ward?

There is, his fight night weight being lower than many sww contenders. it's like another long time amateur Rigo, he could make 118 with ease or probably even 115, but it's just not worth the bother.

            • GGG shouldn't fight Ward no way he has unfinsihed business at 160! Omg Floyd is ducking GGG, he said he'll goto 154. What happened to the unfinished business? This is pathetic, GGG has a worse resume than any of Floyds most recent opponents, yet somehow he's earned a Floyd shot? Hell Berto himself has a better resume. GGG brings nothing to the table for Floyd at 154. He doesn't have a belt there, he fights on HBO, he doesn't even fight in the weight class. ...this ........is........******.

              • Floydiots are 100 times worst than Floyd the fucking ducker. They will try and justify a fight with Khan who does not even deserve a fight with the ducker but would readily trash Golovkin who is willing to go down in weight and fight for the title.

What kind of idiots are these floydiots?

If Floyd didnt get credit against Alvarez because of a two pounds thing, dont fuc&$*# tell me they would give him credit if Golovkin has to move down an entire weight class.
You're right. He'll get way more credit fighting Khan

                  • I have no problem with him calling out fmj, but if you gonna call out an obviously smaller guy, call out ward or any other fighter at 168. We all know floyd can barely make 150, but if GGG can make 154 than why not. GGG should also move up to become a multi division champ and fight ward.

He's fight night weights about the same as them but it's what he's weighing in that which is important. They've all weighed in at 154 recently. He hasn't weighed in that low or weighed that low in general in over a decade. Big difference.

I don't know how long's it's been since Rigondeaux has weighed in at 115 so I can't answer that question but obviously he could make 118 because it's not been too long since he's been at 118.

Like I said I don't know the last time he's been at 115 but if it's been a decade then I doubt he makes that either especially the longer he stays at 122
