Vic partially brought this on himself because of the manner he went out against Maidana, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt here. Maybe he just wasnt capable of getting up, this was a crucial fight for his career and he got caught with an absolute peach of a shot.

Besides throwing around insults you haven't offered anything of substance. Ortiz quit, give it up. I mean try to dispute what I'm saying here for just a second, at the very least do me that favor. Ortiz reacted to the last two punches Collazo threw, did he not? Victor heard the ref count him out and made zero attempt to get up. That's quitting, end of.

One huge shot and if you listened to the commentary, you'd have heard B-Hop and Paulie saying sparring is a lot different to taking shots with 8oz gloves and no headgear.

Also Ortiz wasn't "given" any skills, none of these guys were, they hone them themselves over years through consistent application and hard work, they get in the ring and do what they can, they don't owe anyone.

I see people on this thread getting upset because they're not allowed to kick and disparage a guy when he's down, it seems it's not enough that he lost, they want to twist the knife.

Ortiz is a very good boxer. He has accomplished more than 99% of people who ever tried to make it in boxing.. With that said at the highest level compared to the very best fighters out there Ortiz does lack heart big time. You just can't deny this.

Ortiz is mentally weak and that's his major problem and the reason why he'll never reach his full potential. I wish he could fight the way he fought against Berto but Ortiz is a headcase so for most part he's looking for a way out when he gets hurt and has to face adversity in the ring.

It's a touchy subject for sure. I gotta give him the benefit of the doubt. These guys aren't just boxing -- but boxing at the world level.

I just wished he would have rose to his feet to see if he could recover in the corner since the round was over...but yeah, I have no idea how his body felt. All we can do is speculate.

I only throw insults when they are justified. I am accusing you of not knowing what the **** you are talking about. A man, who just ate a huge shot on a previously broken jaw, sits on his knees while he is counted out. You're like the villagers in The Holy Grail running around claiming that you've caught a witch. Instead of the witch you have Ortiz being carried high upon your hand to the stake and you're yelling fraud, ***** etc and you really want to burn him. How do you know that Ortiz is a fraud.......... because he has a mole?

Have you any clue as to what damage a 8 ounce glove can inflict? Have you ever been dropped by a clean shot like that with an 8 ounce glove? Do you know the damage and clarity of Ortiz' mind in that short span of 10 seconds while he was being counted out. Do you? You don't KNOW **** and are simply speculating.
