I dont disagree with the vast majority of your post. My only point was that its not a defamation case. But as for your assertion that its Arum's duty to "promote" Rigo, thats not entirely correct. A promotional contract basically provides the terms regarding number of fights, purse minimums, contract length, etc etc. The word "promote" is not defined in a promotional contract. Now certainly Rigo could make a case regarding Arum's lack of "best efforts", but by the time that would get anywhere his current contract will already be expired.......

People forget that this is all about numbers. Nothing more, nothing less. Expecting Rigo to keep getting premium tv dates is like hipsters expecting some obscure indie band to be playing the halftime show at the Super Bowl. Its possible, but not very likely.
I mean think about it for a second, and put yourself in HBO's shoes. Rigo can empty an arena quicker than a fire drill. Why would you allocate funds for that? Is he talented? Absolutely. Does that sell tickets? Obviously not. But its like complaining that Justin Beiber sells more tickets than Al Green. Its a pointless debate.........Comment

Carlos Molina or his team don't act like he's God's gift to the earth. Molina's team doesn't expect big money or expect to be the main event.Donaire was literally running around the ring, trying not to get KTFO by Rigo in the last round of their fight. The Agbeko fight was different. Guille does hold back too much sometimes, but I've never seen such a big deal made of a fighter's style. Even Carlos Molina, with his ugly fighting, has no problem landing fights.
Molina knows his place, Rigo doesn't.Comment

I want Rigo to leave Arum but I'm not going to get my hopes up thinking that GBP would market him any better. They treat Lara like garbage at 154lbs so why would they want to risk any of their 122-126 lbs fighters against Rigo?
There are plenty of other fighters in boxing that are tacticians who hit and don't get hit. I don't see their promoters ****ting on them. So with Rigo it's something more than that. As much as I hate to bring race and nationality into this I think that's what it is. Rigo is a black Cuban, he doesn't speak English and he's just too damn good for his own good.
I guess in a promoter's eyes that means there is no way they'd want to risk any of their top fighters against such a threat to their investment. I swear I think boxing is the only sport where greatness gets punished.Comment

I'm not sure if GB will be better but at least we know Arum is not a promoter for him at all. The problem is Rigo, I agree, but because he is extremely good and capable and everybody around him are afraid lo look as bad as Nonito looked. Also with this comments of boring fights they are trying that he loose his best weapon, the defense. I prefer him not to be exposed and continued being the king with his best weapon and not loosing for satisfy Arum. He is smart not obeying Arum that wants him to be KOed. You don't need to be millionaire and earn so much money in a couple of fights exposing your health and your value, because if Rigo receive a KO he will value nothing with the campaign against him. Rather I prefer to earn less but keeping winning some decent money and not to loose and loose everythingComment

Blame falls on quite a few things but a promoter's job is to promote! NOT rely on HBO's money which is all Arum does. He doesn't pay out of his pocket to promote or build, he just robs the HBO bank vault they have left open to him lately.Comment

Wow...perhaps you want to check up on what a promoters role is.Comment

It makes me so happy reading things like this and watching the stance networks are taking towards boring / afraid boxers. When I tune in, I want to see two fighters FIGHT. I want to see action and aggresion, simple as that. That's entertainment. I don't take time out of my day to watch two cowards run from each other and pitty pat each other.
Good job, TR & HBO!Comment
