^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Trinidad didn't come from a Communist country and was able to come and go from P.R. to the U.S. at will. When he'd return to P.R. he would be given parades and was well loved by his people.
Rigo can never go back to Cuba. If he did he wouldn't be getting any parades that's for sure. What I'm getting at is that these promoters don't want to market a fighter who comes from a Latino Communist country. I guess they see less $$$ in it.
And I agree about the style part. Tito was a guy to layed fighters the **** out. But I'm in the minority who loves Rigo and Lara's style. Either way I wish both guys would get better fights.

Excitement matters to TV viewers. Its exactly why you don't see the chess championship in primetime.Originally posted by lazaron72Rigo beats anyone at 122 , ask ducknaire , Mares and agbeko
. As soon as they got hit , defensive mode ...... Rigo is a hall of famer : two times Olimpic , two times world amateur , WBA , wbo , ring magazine champ , in only 12 fights ? Amazing ... This is what matters .

You wanna see warriors huh? Tell your boy to step up to the plate and call out Ward after his next fight... And lets see where that warrior stance takes his career. It makes me so happy reading things like this and watching the stance networks are taking towards boring / afraid boxers. When I tune in, I want to see two fighters FIGHT. I want to see action and aggresion, simple as that. That's entertainment. I don't take time out of my day to watch two cowards run from each other and pitty pat each other.
Good job, TR & HBO!Comment

One thing that a lot of people sleep on when dumping on Rigo is that he is a jr featherweight. Historically guys at these weights are not stars--despite many exciting fights and fighters over the years.
Was Iron Boy a PPV star or even a guy that headlined an HBO Championship Boxing card?Comment

But Bob is really being untruthful in his remarks here. I saw rounds 4 and 5 of that Agbeko fight and Rigo fought with great passion and determination in those rounds so when Bob says here that the last nine rounds were boring and that Rigo didn't care . . . well I KNOW that is a lie.
Granted I only saw rounds 4 and 5 before HBO and Top Rank pulled it from youtube; but anyone could plainly see that Rigo was trying . . . genuinely trying to finish his challenger in those two rounds.Comment

Arum and HBO can complain if they want but the onus is on the opponent to make Rigondeaux fight outside of his gameplan. Its not his fault most people can't handle a technical boxer.
They need to find the right opponent for him (never know who it may be) and they'll never do that having him fight once every 8 months.Comment

Hey brotha,
will you please tweet Caribe Promotions and encourage them to campaign Top Rank for a Pacquaio/Bradley undercard fight on April 12:https://twitter.com/CaribeBoxing
I want them to take this opportunity and complete the Top Rank contract ASAP!!!!
No reason why he shouldn't get this work in April as there are acknowledged issues with HBO Boxing After Dark and HBO World Championship Boxing so HBO PPV is the most reasonable venue for Rigondeaux fans right/Comment

This. Especially Andre Ward who outside of the Chad Dawson fight, has never failed to bore me to sleep after frustrating me for several rounds of pitter-pat punches lacking any and all bad intentions or passionThis is a crock of **** and a shame.
I have never heard a promoter dog his own fighter like this before. Even adding that Lomo, a 1 fight novice, should go in a **** him up.
I can name a ton of fighters and fights that bore the sit out of everyone but still got TV dates. John Ruiz, Carlos molina, ishe, Paulie, iron Boy, Berto, even Ward to an extent. none of those guys get half the grief that Rigo does. Sad.Comment
