I like a technical fight but as bob said rigo seems to coast and to me thats just LAZY!!!!!
Then they should match him with someone that's gonna come forward and get tagged all night. They're crapping in this guy and its amazingly wrong.

As for rigo going to gbp. What makes everyone so sure that showtime is eager to give him tv slot time? If he can't draw on hbo he surely won't draw on showtime.

Bottom line he's a great boxer that brings no entertainment value and in return is a bad business investment.
I think Espinoza has been quoted saying that he'll take Rigo.

Ok. Let's see how he feels about that if rigo continues to fight in front of empty arenas and 80% of the viewers turn the channel once he starts fighting.

if you make him the headliner in an arena where the main undercard fight includes a fighter from that state-thats probably going to happen.

Rather than do that, perhaps they should give him the semi main spot on ppv cards.

That whole thing was a set up.

A set up? Are u saying that the arena emptying out and tv viewers tuning out once rigo started fighting was part of some big conspiracy orchestrated by Bob Arum? Lol

People act like there is some sort of exception outside of Floyd..technical boxers do not do well. Same as legit musicians generally go unnoticed. People go to fights to see a fight. I love Rigo, I love technicians but the reality is that tons of hardcore fans support that at more of a grassroots level (Local fights o up and comers, golden gloves, olympics). The larger audience of boxing wants to see blood and guts..people don't seem to get that. I can't think of one technician outside of Floyd to ever pull in a million viewers on ppv or premium cable. Andre Ward fights beautifully but what got folks talking? His cracking of Chad Dawson. There is a reason for that. GBP can promise this guy the world..aside of putting him on some high profile undercards there isn't much they can do. The market dictates what's hot and what they spend on and in the last 15 years it hasn't been 12 round jab fests..sorry but it's time many folk come to terms with the reality of Rigo's situation. Let him crack someone's chin like Provodnikov did and watch...

Arum did the same to Bradley after the first Pacquiao fight, but guess who's making 7 figure paydays now-a-days?

Rigo just need to accept that he isn't popular. Take what is offered and just get as many TV appearances he can get. Eventually people will catch on and maybe start paying attention to him.

For real, I was going to post the same thing. That Garcia-Burgos fight was worse than the Rigo-Abegko fight but since Bobby Arum is claiming that Garcia is the next P4P star and on the road to fight Pacquiao. It will be in HBO best interest to give excuses on why Garcia is a still must see boxing superstar which is pretty ****ing ridiculous. Gamboa will do Rigo a favor and sabotage the next Top Rank cash cow but more than likely Arum won't make the same mistake he did with Rigo/Donaire.

Top Rank should change their name to Mexican and Filipinos only promotions.
