Comments Thread For: Bob Arum Understands HBO's Rigondeaux Reluctance

NEW YORK — Nearly eight months passed between Guillermo Rigondeaux’s last two HBO appearances.

Rigondeaux might have to wait even longer before HBO Sports executives agree to put him on the network again. Bob Arum, Rigondeaux’s promoter, understands their reluctance.

The unbeaten Cuban dominated Ghana’s Joseph Agbeko to defend his WBA and WBO 122-pound championships Dec. 7 in Atlantic City. The mostly boring bout drew mediocre ratings, though, and left viewers switching channels to seek entertainment elsewhere following a highly entertaining co-featured fight in which James Kirkland stopped Glen Tapia in the sixth round.

Rigo has real skills but his style doesn't appeal the masses

Rigondeaux just wins , exposes , gives boxing lessons , he just is a master .
He doesn't have to change anything : he is boxing .
Hbo can do whatever , rigo is the best at what he does .
Go rigo : hit and not get hit ; you can not hit what you don't see .

Then both parties should resign the contract. Anyway there's only one fight left. Everything with Arum is a trap. He made this fight with Agbeco who didn't fought. But Arun is a person of bad faith, because now he is making excuses to make wait Rigo another 9 month for his next fight. If he has problems let him go to Golden Boy and Showtime instead of keeping him tied to the contract. You will see how Arum find a fight soon for Donaire, the loser and looked really bad in his last fight, instead of Rigo.

What's wrong with being on undercards? He doesn't have to headline.

Arum thinks Lomachenko will beat the crap out of Rigo? lol I can't wait for Guillermo's contract to be over. I don't care what happens; I want him out of Top Rank. You can't have a promoter who's constantly putting you down in public.

If he wants to stay on TV and make premium cable money, he better.

He has guys hurt like Nonito and he doesn't go and attempt to finish him. He has guys incapable of fighting back and doesn't go and try for the kill.

He is the best boxer on the planet, but it seems like he's not making any effort to be marketable, then *****es when the suits don't give a crap about him.

Rigo beats anyone at 122 , ask ducknaire , Mares and agbeko
. As soon as they got hit , defensive mode ...... Rigo is a hall of famer : two times Olimpic , two times world amateur , WBA , wbo , ring magazine champ , in only 12 fights ? Amazing ... This is what matters .

Exactly put him on the undercards he obviously isn't a big draw to be a main event fighter
