There's little doubt in my mind that he doesn't leave TR.Originally posted by MGMGRANDQuote:

I've never seen a promoter hate one of their fighters as much as he hates Rigo.
Hopefully Rigo leaves Top Rank.

Please please release the guy, and gb please sign this guy so he can keep living the dream he's worked his entire life for. And Lomachenko gets blasted looking past salido.Comment

Not only is he putting Rigo down but he's using his name to promote Lomachenko. Since he's the new flavor of the month and all.

Why are you guys so certain he'd be on GBP if he becomes free from TR? Schaeffer has ripped Rigondeaux's style himself. I doubt his paydays would be bigger over there either.
I'm sure someone would pick him up because he's so decorated and is a P4P fighter. Just cant see it being Golden BoyComment

lol Really. Who ever heard of a promoter knocking his own fighter? If I was Arum, I'd be touting Rigo's sublime boxing ability to the stars, while secretly cringing. At the very least, I'd keep quiet, so as not to cause any more damage.Someone needs to teach Bob Arum about 'branding'. If you talk and talk and talk about how boring a fighter is... guess what the fans will be associating him with?
Arum wants shot of him its clear. Probably wants to build Donaire back up and Lomachenko up without having the obvious problem of a guy who could embarrass them in the ring floating about his stable.Comment

Funny bc I tell my brother the same thing about Rigo being stubborn!! Before the donaire fight he had 8 kos in like 10 fights!! After the donaire match people were saying he's boring as an excuse and I think he is pissed and being stubborn about being asked to change his style. You make a good point about the headlining. Rigo's issues would be diminished if he fought on undercards, but I don't know if they'd be altogether cured.
I understand that GBP might be as bad, or even worse than Top Rank. But if Schaefer takes on Rigo, it stands to reason he thinks he can do better than Arum. That would be an improvement...at least initially. If GBP doesn't pan out, Guillermo might have to take his show overseas. He simply cannot continue to work with a promoter that publicly blasts him like Bob does.
I would love to see Rigo step up the action myself, but I don't know exactly what his rationale is. I have to believe he has his reasons. Maybe he's just being stubborn. I don't know. But I would hate to see him get KOed, attempting to make a fight more exciting.Comment
