They were by no means devastating punches. It was quite clearly an awful stoppage.
They are clearly hard solid clean punches what are you watching?

They are heavy blows he's taking (whilst hurt)

Not enough to stop it but still.

When? He got knocked down and was hurt badly but he got up and was given a proper count.

I don't remember any other points in the fight where Froch was sagging into the ropes taking clean shots and stumbling forward with his head down.

I said I counted about 3 half shots. Looking at the slowmo there was 2 decent shots and 2 half shots.

        That was it.

Him being badly hurt? He clearly was.

There are so many worse stoppages than this that wouldn't win an appeal. Let alone this one.

I don't know what I'd appeal for maybe If I were Peter Manfredo I'd appeal against the Calzaghe stoppage or something.

But Groves? that's ridiculous. Obviously the stoppage was early but certainly not to the extent where an appeal is warranted.

How is someone who's face looks like this goin to appeal?

Especially as he was hurt at the time of the stoppage.

Just ridiculous and he's out of his mind if he thinks he'll win it.
His face ended up looking like that after the damage had taken its toll - he didn't look anywhere near that bad as they were in the ring.

He was on unsteady legs yes, but still a far cry from 'wobbling around the ring'.

He was hurt, not badly hurt.

Oh I agree that I've seen worse stoppages. Not many, but there are a few. The manfredo one was particularly weird.

But that shouldn't take away from the fact that it was an early stoppage, and if he has the opportunity to appeal, and does it, it should be heard like any other fight.

I'm not saying I would uphold it or not, but that's not my decision to make anyway. I think it would be good to uphold it so the refs will have more to think about in the future, so no more Groves/manfredo stoppages will occur.

In the last sequence there were two solid blows landed. In the video dirk posted. Groves was still throwing and got off the ropes to push Froch back as the ref stopped it.

Nothing compared to the blows Froch took in rounds 1,3 & 6.

That interview was right after the fight no more than half an hour after and his face is a state.

He was wobbling/staggering around the ring.

              And he was badly hurt.

He was all of those things and either you're refusing to admit it or your eyes are deceiving you.

Either way, when all these things apply it's pretty ridiculous to appeal and I doubt he even expects to win it's so ridiculous.

Pushing Froch back? You need to stop with that one.

Pushing him back by what? Stumbling forward looking at the floor?

Froch took solid blows but he was never in a situation where he was being unloaded on against the ropes whilst hurt like Groves was.

Again not saying it should have been stopped because it shouldn't but there's been so many worse stoppages. So many.

This is why Froch shouldn't want a premature stoppage, as it means people want to see it again and see it for a proper outcome.

Froch might have felt relieved at the time the ref stopped it as he felt it slipping away, and that's good temporarily but then you get the backlash and come back to reality. But at least it is still registered as a win.

But the reason I personally feel it was a premature stoppage, is, tell me if I sound silly. Without slo mo, I didn't even know Groves had taken full bodied punches, let alone was in trouble.
I felt he was a little off balance, but that happens to me sometimes walking down the street.

You get hit in the face with clean punches when you're walking down the street?

I wanted Froch to win, and felt he could come back and win, but Id rather people not want Froch to rematch, but its inevitable with controversial stoppages that the problem Froch has got now.

Of course Groves was being hit, but when you fight in the ring you do get hit. At the time it just seemed to me Groves was a little tired and off balance a bit with his stumbling.
It didn't occur to me Groves was in trouble, how naïve I was at the time. Having seen it in slo mo I can see he was being hit a bit though.
