Here y'all go again rewriting history.

Ward said he would not fight Bute until he proved himself. Most agree that this was fair given the rigorous Super 6 tournament. Bute HIMSELF even agreed with Ward which is why he took the fight with a tough Challenger in Carl Froch. HOW DO YOU REFUTE THIS WHEN THE MAN HIMSELF WANTED TO PUSH HIMSELF TO TAKE ON TOUGHER COMPETITION?!. It's Bootayz problem that he lost and no one else's.

For a guy who everyone says is boring and no one wants to watch him fight, his haters sure care about who he's fighting. If you're not watching, why do you care?

He should move up when the 175 pound division has a clear #1, which it looks like is on it's way with HBO including the Kovalev fight in Stevenson's new contract.

Instead, Ward was after the likes of Pavlik and (more recently) Sartison...

... But who Ward is fighting next?
The fact is Ward just absolutely schooled Rodriguez, the same guy that blitzed Grachev. Grachev who beat Erdei, nearly beat Bute, and Ko'd Sillakh who just happens to be one of Kovalev's best wins. Grachev is a proven fighter that Rodriguez destroyed, Ward fought the winner.

I can just imagine if it was someone like Kovalev/Stevenson that gave Grachev that beating, the hype would be insane.

                Here come the triangle theories...

IMO, Ward should move up. Unless he's waiting for Chavez Jr, he's wasting his time at 168.

175 looks lively; if he could beat Stevenson and Kovalev, it'd be a huge statement.

andy lee sucks. bika is a proven fighter. what skills does lee possess that are better? because he's a more classical boxer he's automatically better? thats what makes him so predictable and easy to beat. plus he has no chin. bika is a mad man and even gave the great joe calzaghe a beating in the last 3 rounds.

are you seriously pretending that grachev-rodriguez was some sort of super fight to establish the #1 challenger to ward? bute, kovalev, and stevenson have much better resumes than both guys. who cares if they beat grachev? bute already beat him and no one cared. grachev was also drained against rodriguez. he fights at 175 and the fight was at 171. why didn't ward say "rodriguez has to prove himself and beat froch before i fight him?" answer because rodriguez sucks! 2 million dollars to fight a bum shut ward's mouth pretty quickly.

No the answer is no, neither were the right thing to do for the sport. No one knows the story with Bute and the Super Six. Ken Hershman said he was never invited and that's all we've got.

We do know what Andre Ward said about a potential Bute fight.
