Nobody knew that Wards time off would be so long. There where talks of a Bute fight where Bute even offered to go to jOakland, but Ward didn't want none. The injury was not the excuse. Ward just felt that he was so good that not even the no.1 contender was qualified.

Bute was absolutely the best SMW after the s6 that Ward hadn't beat. That cannot be up for debate.

I would have rather seen a Froch rematch tbh..Anyone not named Froch yes your right he was next up..He still had done nothing at the weight..Hell at that point,his best win was against Andrade..A never was..
