Because I remember that, like two years ago.

Since Kovalev and Stevenson cleared out all the trash at 175, now Ward never mentions it

    anyone noticed that?

I remember. He ducked Bute no doubt. And he is chasing Chavez jr. now instead of moving up.

Interesting, any link to the article or video where he makes this statement ? I've followed Ward since he won gold in the Olympics and don't recall him saying that. I do recall him stating Bute shouldn't get an easy pass to the winner of the Super Six after all of the fighters within the division had busted their ass competing against one another.

In regards to the ducking claim, Ward broke his hand in the finals against Froch and was physically unable to entertain the idea of fighting Bute.....you both probably know this already and simply feel like trolling

Froch was smart and took advantage of the oppertunity to expose Bute.....

Agreed, i remember the same thing and I agreed with his logic that Bute shouldn't get the winner of the super six. He didn't deserve that opportunity at the time after all the other top SMW had been in hard fight after hard fight.

But to say Froch took advantage of the opportunity to expose Bute is nonsense. It was in no way a foregone conclusion that he would win, Bute was the favourite. It's easy to sound clever after the fact. For Froch at the time it was a must win or retire in his head.

Ward may of beaten Froch in the super six but Froch has done more to clean up the division than Ward ever has.

Man, I said this maybe two years ago but I'll repeat:

Ward as the US fighter syndrome, he wants big money for fighting no bodies

Back in 2011, I was rooting for my boy Bute (he's my compatriot)...

I've closely followed the events then... But I can't say that Ward actually "ducked" Bute... I remember that Ken Hershman (the Super Six organizer) switched from Showtime to HBO in January 2012... I also remember that Hershman took the position of HBO Sports President and he took Andre Ward with him, while Bute was still under contract with Showtime for other two fights, at $2 mln per fight... Interesting enough, Showtime later refused to broadcast the Bute-Froch fight...

I like watching Bute fight. Yea, he may've been hyped waaaaay too much, and his power like many emerging 30 somethings is probably fueled by PEDs.

But, I want to see him fighting, and I have no idea how Bute, Pascal plays out. I'm thinking Pascal probably beats him, but I'd love to see Bute get back into the game.
