Don't turn this into a Manny vs. Floyd thread. Let's all just big up Manny.
I agree with everything in it but one sentence. Which if you know my posts is the JMM All time Great thing. Otherwise Pac came in at a time when you had to build your brand yourself pretty much....and he overcame a lot and did it. My hat goes off to him because he really worked his way up and was one of the fighters that helped make little guys more well known outside of Asia at a time when everyone was big on the Heavyweights.
I agree it shouldn't be a Manny-Floyd thing but it always is and I haven't read the other posts below yours yet but here's to hoping what you asked stays true...Pac earned his stripes and is a great fighter....that's all that needs to be said.
For a guy who used to eat less three meals a day, feed himself by scraping rust and making history by doing it almost all on his own, (unlike fighters who were spoon-fed for greatness since birth), and whose prime motivation is to feed his family, he sure is legendary.
I recently made a ranking of top 50 ATG fighters and ranked Pac somewhere post 30 but pre-40, I'll have a look but in recent months I've been reviewing certain careers, namely Pacquiao, De Le Hoya, Napoles, Hagler and a couple others. That list may well be updated to reflect my changes in opinions. Pac deserves to be higher and a couple other "black and white" ATGs deserve to be lower.
