Its reasonable to question why anyone would hold a win over erik moales up when he lost the fight before to raheem. Erik is a HOF'er but the loss to raheem suggested he wasn't the same fighter anymore.

Had Manny defeaed Raheem instead of Morales a 3rd time, he would have negated any criticism, especially when he fought Diaz after he beat Morales.

The writer asks where are all the tailor made fighters. This is a fair point. I would ask the writer-what was it about Zahir Raheem that manny and his team declined to fight him after beating Erik but they jumped at the chance to fight Diaz after he beat Erik?

OMG you are not still talking about Raheem are you? Pac fought Morales as Morales is a better fighter. Just becauase he lost to Raheem, maybe because Morales underestimated Raheem, it happens.

So once SRR lost to Randolph Turpin, SRR becomes a bum all of a sudden does he? You might as well avoid SRR like the plaque as having him on your resume because he lost to Randolph is pointless? Not!

What does srr have to do with this article or my post?

Morales clearly wasn't a better fighter. Raheem. Beat him by a wide margin. His speed, size, and style were too much for erik.

No matter how you spin it, manny chose to fight the slower plodder that beat erik but not the quicker boxer. Just like he fought the 5'11 plodder but not the 5'11 boxer because he was too tall.

I just think the writer should be accurate.

Yes Raheem was better on the night, if Morales rematched him he might have beat him.

So what if Pac chose Morales instead of Raheem, it just means he has Morales on his resume instead of Raheem. Just like FLoyd has DLH on his resume, rather than BH because FLoyd chose to have DLH on his resume, rather than BH. YOu are bickering over nothing.
Just like Floyd would rather have JMM on his resume than Pac, or Cotto on his resume rather than have Pac on it. Or Zab rather than Baldomir.

And Pac decided to have Diaz on his resume, as he already had Morales on his resume. YOu are thinking too much.

Wouldn't Floyd rather have Sergio Martinez on his resume rather than a CW Canelo? Sergio has a greater resume. Pac wanted Morales as he is a greater fighter.

Almost every fighter "ducked" a harder fight to fight the better fighters. Raheem was a harder fight for Pac to win than Morales, but Morales was the bigger name and overall better fighter. It looks nicer on a resume than Raheem and it is what it is. You can dig up almost any fighter and make an argument like that, people should stop doing it and focus more on fighters and who they've beaten instead of who they haven't...People don't fight 100 fights anymore they're not going to face everyone.

Manny didn't beat morales until after raheem did. The writer should be accurate.

I expected manny to beatt zahir the same way floyd beat zab and baldomir. Not too much to ask and it would have negated any criticism.

manny fought diaz and margs and not zahir and yuri because he matcjes up well with them and not so well with the others. Admitting it isn't going to get you arrested.

Why are you obsessed with Raheem? Pac has beat better fighters than Raheem? Pac was generous in giving his beatings out to Barrera, and Morales.

Floyd fights less, so he is giving less people a chance to beat him than Pac does. Is it too much to ask Floyd to fight as often as Pac and ko people for 7 years like Pac did?
Floyd beats 10 loss Baldmoir, but not Kostya, margarita, Sergio who has been calling him out for ages. He didn't answer Paul Williams call.

I cant argue with his accomplishments, just as i cant argue with Floyds. Manny just happens to be one of my favorites because of his style and who he fought, when he fought them, for the most part. Great piece
