LostGuy, TheOne77, JM Chulls, and ChrististheAnswer ALL disagreed that Arturo Gatti was a journeyman.

...BUT NOT ONE OF YOU TOLD ME WHAT GOOD FIGHTER HE HAS BEATEN.

STILL WAITING FOR GATTI'S BEST VICTORY.

Great Vid I know Gatti's not a great fighter but what hes done for the dying world of boxing makes up for it. to the none hardcore fans of boxing they know the "gatti-ward" trilogy.

NO NO NO. This is a PERFECT EXAMPLE OF SOMEONE WHO DOES KNOW BOXING.

Because as I was watching that fight, I was saying "Jeezusss, I can't believe neither of those palookas know how to slip or block a punch or ever learned a lick of defense".

That is someone who looks at boxing analytically with an appreciation for the skillset and technique required to be a good fighter... Eating a bunch of punches from a SLOW fighter isn't skill. IT'S LACK OF SKILL.

Your mindset is completely out of this world while analyzing Gatti or his career... especially the Gatti/Ward Trilogy. I will never say that Ward or Gatti are ridiculously highly skilled fighters... but that doesn't make them not great in their own right. Their hearts, chin, determination and charisma do more than enough to enthrall any fan or non-fan of the sport.

If you honestly watched Gatti/Ward I and thought to yourself those things during that war then you're not a fight fan, merely a pompous **** who thinks too highly of his own opinion. That fight defines what the sport should be in many aspects to me (minus the lack of skill). The excitement, the intensity, the heart, and the determination shown in a close battle is what boxing should be about.

Boxing is not just appreciating slick fighters like Toney or PBF... there are many aspects to it and to simply insult the likes of Gatti or Ward because of it is mere ignorance. Good day to you sir.

Name me the BEST win of this "Pretty Good" fighter's career. Tell me his BEST WIN.

If it looks like a journeyman, and smells like a journeyman...

that is another good point actully, but you still have to respect the heart and determination, say that it was an entertaining fight where two tough as nails guys showed alot of heart and put it all on the line.

                    AS I MENTIONED:

                    LaMotta-Robinson
                    BArrera-Morales
                    Ali-Frazier
                    Castillo-Corrales
                    etc.

All great fights ("heart, determination, excitement, intensity")contested at a high level with elite fighters. That automatically makes those fights a rung above PizzaBoy-Boozer.

Sorry, I'm just not a jock-sniffer for unskilled brawlers. But don't let me stop YOU. Have at it. How many of those fighters above are "slick"? Now how many are "skilled"? ALL of them. Learn the difference. Your cyber-insults give me a chuckle. I'm sure you relish your new role as the Don Rickles of the Internet.

This pompous **** is hoping to hear about Gatti's best victory before I die.

...and good day to YOU, sir... LOL

I do not deny that I am a huge, gaping *******.

But I'm an ******* that doesn't allow my personal feelings about a fighter to affect my honest assessment of who he is. And I know the sport. A major paradigm shift is in order here. I understand some of you may like Gatti. And Ward. You buy into that whole Jersey thing. Great. I've met bridge-and-tunnel types my whole life and I know that mentality.

But at least say: "Yeah, I like him, but I know he's not that good and he hasn't fought at a high level in a loooong time - if ever". I can respect that. No problem with that. But guys on here are using the words "great" and "very good". Neither Gatti nor Ward would find great if they had a GPS and a full tank of gas. When you get beaten consistently by gateway fighters like Manfredy and Robinson, "great" is not in your milieu. Sorry.

Zab Judah is an immature, undedicated, inconsistent *******. But he is talented and dangerous. Just ask Micky Ward (who Judah was able to dominate WITHOUT getting into a bloody war). He has the opposite characteristics of Gatti. What Zab has, Gatti lacks. And vice versa. Both of them suck wet ass.

I just call 'em as I see 'em. Sorry if that makes some of you cry.

Remind me: what very good fighter did Gatti beat again to earn entry into their ranks....?
