Rating fighters hearts compared to other fighters who are considered warriors is near impossible and somewhat idiotic. Watch more of Gatti's and Ward's career, you'll see that both guys have hearts at least as big as the Real Deals. Arturo Gatti, Mickey Ward, and Evander Holyfield are warriors, end of story. To say that one guy has more stones than another, out of these three warriors is silly.

It depends on who their opponent is. I'd rather watch Floyd, RJJ, Oscar, and tons of other guys over Castillo, that's for sure.

Gatti-Ward is a brawl, where as something like Toney-Jirov is a boxing match. The skill levels cannot be compared. It's inside fighting, but there's a lot more skill to Toney-Jirov than there could ever be in a Gatti match, unless he's completely outmatched.

Evander fought with a heart condition that only allowed him 13 percent oxygen to his system.

He was a cruiserweight moving up and stood toe to toe his entire career against bigger guys and harder punchers.

        dont give me that.

Biggest heart of all time hands down. LITERALLY.

Well Roy was content to go distance with Tarver and I don't think the three guys mentioned would settle for that. Great trilogy amplified by the fact that they are friends which makes it special. I'm not saying its a better trilogy than Frazier-Ali but its a happier trilogy as Frazier is still consumed with bitterness whereas Arturo and Ward are still close buddies

I'll give them their credit as far as heart and desire goes, but the fights were not entertaining to me. Two guys standing toe-to-toe and pounding each other's brains in is not boxing, to me, it's just fighting. I watch boxing to see two guys box, not to see two guys brawl.

            Bad Magick!!!

Thank you for being a fan of BOXING. "Hit And Not Be Hit". "The Sweet Science".

Neither Gatti nor Ward are good fighters. As I mentioned earlier, Floyd did ALOT more damage to Gatti than Ward did. And did not take blows. THAT is boxing.

Even that asswipe Zab Judah pummeled Micky Ward to an easy victory without getting hit. That says all you need to know about the skill level in the ring when Gatti and Ward are the participants.

To the Gatti ballwashers who are getting their feelings hurt: save the insults. You only draw laughter on this end.

              THAT was boxing.

The ups and downs of this trilogy was insane and for the fact that these two fighters didn't hate one another. It was truly for the fans.

How can you not appreciate that. Ward at one time had double vision as a result of these wars.
Exactly! It was because of what gatti learned from McGirt that he was able to continue fighting even after injuring his hand again.

Really? Should I be expecting Gatti-Mayweather II? I mean, he's learned SO much from BMcG...or how 'bout "Judah - Ward: The Redemption"?

I appreciate a highly competitive offensive battle as much as the next guy. But it only appeals to me when it is top-flight fighters: Barrera-Morales, Robinson-LaMotta, Ali-Frazier, Balboa-Creed.

It just doesn't appeal to me to watch journeymen wailing on each other. But, hey, different strokes for different folks. There's an ass for every seat. I'm sure there are people who find Tara Reid sexy. Go fig.

If you dispute the "journeyman" tag applied to Gatti, I will invite you to name one GOOD fighter that he beat.

What does that have to do with anything? He learned to box better to make him a slightly more talented bad fighter?

Gatti is an exciting guy to watch, if you like watching C-class fighter beat the hell out of each other. Personally, I don't enjoy watching that.

Nothing can be said negatively about his heart, or determination, but his skill is not in the same class as his heart is. He's just not that good.

The Ali-Fraizer trilogy is, was, and always will be better than the Gatti-Ward trilogy, and for one reason, the guys fighting were far more skilled.
