a journey dosen't become champ...
Journeyman fighters have tonnes of losses in their records and are stepping stones for fighters coming up.
Gatti's Victorys:
Tracee Paterson: WBC batamweight champion and IBF champion
Gabriel Ruelas: WBC featherweight champion
Jesse James Leija: Former WBC superfeather champion
Gianluca Branco: good fighter with a sold record
Leonard Dorin: WBA Lightweight champion
Terron Millett: Former IBF Welterweight champion
Joey Gamache: Former WBA Superfeatherweight champion
Now, if you call that a journeyman's record.....you are just ignorant and have no clue what the term 'Journeyman' means
Ruelas was actualy a superfeather champion
Gatti has some impressive defeats over some good fighters who have beaten some top notch fighters
It blows my mind the lack of respect that Gatti's getting in some circles. He, nor his fans, have said he's one of the best. We love him because he goes all out, and is a true warrior. he and Mickey Ward put on one of the best shows ever, 3 times at that, and showed casual fans why boxing is a great sport. They showed sportsmanship, respect for the sport, heart, and determination, and if you want to bash them for not being the most skilled fighters in the game, go right ahead.

Ahhhhhh, THANK YOU... YOU JUST MADE MY **** HARD.
YOU ACTUALLY TOOK THE BAIT AND WENT AND LISTED THIS VIRTUAL LIST OF NOBODIES.
You know nothing about boxing. When you start to call someone a champion nowadays just because they have a belt, then it shows how tiny your actual boxing knowledge is.
Thomas Damgaard was an undefeated fighter with a belt. Was he a very good fighter??
There is NOT A SINGLE person on that list that any boxing aficionado would consider a very good fighter... they are all average fighters- AT BEST!!
The lone exception is JJ Leija, but he was HOW OLD when he fought Gatti? Answer: FORTY. A FORTY YEAR OLD LIGHTWEIGHT.
Patterson: NEVER BEAT ANYBODY.
Ruelas: Win over Leija... NEVER BEAT ANYONE ELSE.
Branco: The two guys he fought before Gatti? Combined for 32 losses...HAHAHA. And, like Damgaard, had never fought in the USA before or since. I give Gatti credit. He sure knows which European morgues to get his opponents from.
The One77: You are a ****ing liar. You had NEVER heard of this Branco. "good fighter"... effin' liar.
Dorin: His claim to fame was a draw to a troubled Spadafora. have you heard from him since Gatti fight??? LOL
Terron Millett: Hot, steaming garbage. AND YOU KNOW IT. Has beaten nobody. Knocked Zab down and got stopped himself. ZAB!!
Joey Gamache: OK...My sides are hurting now. Isn't this the fight where Gatti outweighed him by, like, 20 lbs?? Let me tell you about your boy Joey Gamache. His fights prior to Gatti were:
Craig Houk: 63-33-0
Jerry Smith: 14-37-0
John Bailey: 14-3-1
Mark Brannon: 30-30-3
Sound like "journeymen"? "Tonnes of losses"? "Stepping stones"?? Silly rabbit.
I didn't even know you can still have a license after that. LMAO. How's that for Joey Gamache?? AND YOU HAD NEVER, EVER heard of Gamache before.
You gave me SEVEN guys who have a TOTAL of ZERO wins over a premium fighter. ****, even by BLIND LUCK you would normally find a Junior Jones who has beaten a Barrera... or something.
I had looked at Gatti's record closely waaaaay before I asked the question. Wishing some asswipe would answer so I can OWN him. I used to like gatti. And then I took a really close look, and saw that he was bamboozling the public by fishing out no-name, no-talent, often white guys with good records so he can pack his house and make money. Do your homework, mi hijo...
(By the way, fax me your balls. You won't be needing them anymore).
This is laughable. Castillo/Corrales I was highly skilled? WHy is that? Because they both leaned back on occasion or put their hands up slightly higher to protect themselves while standing toe-to-toe slugging at eachother? If you're going to be a ****, at least try not to be a hypocritical one.
Also, I never claimed the Gatti/Ward trilogy is the greatest thing in boxing, so don't try to imply that I ever did. )
1) Castillo and Corrales are BOTH FAR more skilled fighters than Gatti.
i said he was a good fighter, not a great fighter.
I was making the point that he wasn't a journeyman, so you are wrong.
actully you were making the point that he was a good fighter. i disputed that he was a great fighter. i never once said he was a journeyman. get your facts straight
