For my part, I don't have a problem with a NC. The telling punch happened after the first bell rang. That much is clear. All I'm saying is that what happened tonight was pretty reasonable, if not altogether accurate.

What I'm calling reasonable are Barthelemy's actions.
You're arguing your case from your perspective, and I'm arguing from mine. Someone else is going to decide the ultimate outcome of this case. I'm betting they'll uphold the ref's actions and order a rematch. That, too, is reasonable.
Ok now explain how his inability to follow the rules and foul Mendez is reasonable and fair for Mendez.
Your perspective is " i want Barth to win" instead of what is actually right (my perspective.
A KO after the bell doesnt suck for mendez? I think it should be a DQ because he intentionally punched him, i dont see how a punch can be "unintentional"
A DQ or NC, i dont care. Mendez shouldnt lose his fight and belt on a KO after the bell
That's what I said I'm fine with a NC but the DQ woulda ****** , Rances had just knocked him down. He woulda finished him....
I have to believe the ref knew those punches came late. The fact that he decided not to DQ Barthelemy on the spot, and count Mendez out, tells me that, in his estimation, Rances's actions were legit. If the athletic commissioner in Minnesota disagrees, that's another matter.

Why do you always attempt to rationalize the officials thought of mind instead of what is right?
Im sure you were ok with the judges seeing Rios beating Abril because its what they thought, cmon lets not be so biased
Mike's just following procedure . I'm sure he'll have a chance at a rematch , Rances already said he give it and I believe him. Question is does Mike and Mendez seek a rematch at this point when they know they'll probably lose ?
It's not that simple. Froch said he'd gives Groves a rematch in the post fight interview, in front of all of those fans. They asked him right after, away from the boos and he has a change of heart.
