Barth was in a middle of a combination, but that hook left too late with total disregard to the bell. Appeal looks to be in favor of Argenis.

Does it matter? The guy won the fight after the bell. For all we know he could have recovered and won the fight. But i guess it ok because he was probably going to lose? If thats a waste of time, 98% of fights wouldnt be made because there is usually an almost predetermined winner in most fights
Its a big deal to mendez, lose on a foul and his beltComment

For my part, I don't have a problem with a NC. The telling punch happened after the first bell rang. That much is clear. All I'm saying is that what happened tonight was pretty reasonable, if not altogether accurate.I tried to find rules online but I can't find anything quickly that's clear on DQ's. From a cursory read though I will relent my stance and say DQ may be too harsh; whoever in this thread said NC is probably right. Either way, I dont think Rances should get the W even though he clearly was dominating and probably would have stopped him anyway.Comment

So ur saying the refs break the rules Everytime they break up the action cause they sould be DQing or taking points. And maybe ur right but it's accepted because the ends of rounds would end boringly or they're would be constant DQs and taking of points.... Hence a $h!ty sport... So the rules are always bent except this time and it Rances fault. This is logical ?Comment

How is winning the fight on punches after the bell reasonable?Comment

That's what I said I'm fine with a NC but the DQ woulda ****** , Rances had just knocked him down. He woulda finished him....Comment

Where did i say that? I said they dont HAVE to jump in. But the fighters HAVE TO stop punching at the bell. Refs are not part of the action, they are there to ref the action. The ref is allowed to stop the action whenever, but he doesnt have to physically jump in at the bell.So ur saying the refs break the rules Everytime they break up the action cause they sould be DQing or taking points. And maybe ur right but it's accepted because the ends of rounds would end boringly or they're would be constant DQs and taking of points.... Hence a $h!ty sport... What I'm calling reasonable are Barthelemy's actions.
You're arguing your case from your perspective, and I'm arguing from mine. Someone else is going to decide the ultimate outcome of this case. I'm betting they'll uphold the ref's actions and order a rematch. That, too, is reasonable.Comment

A KO after the bell doesnt suck for mendez? I think it should be a DQ because he intentionally punched him, i dont see how a punch can be "unintentional"
A DQ or NC, i dont care. Mendez shouldnt lose his fight and belt on a KO after the bellComment
