Just let it go. Was it late? Yeah but I've seen worse and dude was getting his ass beat. So what you want, a DQ, a do over? Waste of everyone's time. Move on. Bad calls happen in all games I mean the refs missed a penalty in the KC vs SD game where the game could have been decided by a FG. What can they do now have them play again? Nope its over and done with move on.

DQ after already winning? THis makes no sense. Maybe fined by the commission but how can you be DQ after you've just been declared a winner?Refer to my post previous to this.
I'm not certain, but I do believe Kirkland could've been DQed for his actions, despite Smoger stepping in. What's interesting is that you use that rationale for one fight but not the other. How can you DQ a guy after you've already counted his opponent out?
Yes and i am saying the ref clearly didnt do his job of DQ/NCing a fighter for a clear foul. He should have DQ'd him instead of counting him out. Ur argument makes no sense.Comment

Are you avoiding my question or being sarcastic ? It's getting late. We're talking about at the bell. Read my last post again... And pease answer if u wishComment

NC and a do over yes. Win the fight fairly, who cares if it "wastes" time.Just let it go. Was it late? Yeah but I've seen worse and dude was getting his ass beat. So what you want, a DQ, a do over? Im sure you didnt want Hopkins loss to Dawson over turned in their first fight

I tried to find rules online but I can't find anything quickly that's clear on DQ's. From a cursory read though I will relent my stance and say DQ may be too harsh; whoever in this thread said NC is probably right. Either way, I dont think Rances should get the W even though he clearly was dominating and probably would have stopped him anyway.Comment

The ESPN site has the video clip up. They show it several times, along with Teddy Atlas's opinion about the controversy. It's pretty interesting. It doesnt matter, he hit him after the bell, thats a foul. It wasnt intentional, so its a NC instead of a DQ. But winning a fight on a foul just because u were in the zone?
Ur rationalizing a very straight forward situation to fit ur agenda. Ur actually bending rules. Its like saying a bucket counts after the bell in basketball because the guy was in the process of shooting and in the zone. It makes no sense, after the bell is after the bell. Plus it wasnt even close, he threw a 3 punch combo
You're right, a foul is a foul, and maybe I am rationalizing. But if I am, then what is Teddy doing? He's making the same argument I am. He must be Cuban, right?

Whats the question, should the ref stand back? Yea pretty much. And if the fighters foul, you penalize. Its the fighters responsibility to control their fists, otherwise they should punch after the bell until the ref jumps in rightComment

Hopkins wasn't getting his ass kicked in fact bhop landed more punches up to that point. This was a case of a guy who got his ass beat and was KOd a second after the bell after already being knocked down. No big deal.Comment

He's also rationalizing, i dont know. If it was unintentional and he couldnt stop his fists, then its a NC. How can you support winning a fight on punches after the bell? The ESPN site has the video clip up. They show it several times, along with Teddy Atlas's opinion about the controversy. It's pretty interesting.

It is a big deal though isn't it. You can't say Mendez was clearly out of this fight, it was early and he was about to get a whole minute.Comment
