I can't see Ward winning, he wouldn't look like the boxing "technician" many bill him as when he's fighting the likes of plodding brawlers like Froch, Abraham, and Kessler. Floyd has seen every style there is, can't say the same about Ward.
Fantasy: Would a Welter Andre Ward do well VS Floyd?

see, I dont look at it like this at all. I think if you do things P4P then you either have to shrink Ward or make Floyd bigger. You cant just leave them at the same height while asking this question. You do it by weight class. Meaning, Ward is not that tall compared to Floyd on a WW to SMW scale. Then about the arm length. If they are about the same even now then you would have to give Floyd a huge advantage in that catagory on a P4P scale. If the fight is at WW then you have to make Ward shorter in height & arm length. If its at SMW then you have to make Floyd even taller than 5'8 and his arms even longer then they are now which is already crazy
Good post, I agree with your criteria.Comment

Like Paulie said during the Canelo fight, he gives so many different looks that it makes it hard to initiate an attack. He goes half guard, full guard, hands down out of range etc but he punches off of all the stances. I know a lot of people hate the guy but the **** he does in the ring is prodigal.Comment

Bro Mosley lost to BIGGER Men. Floyd was the first small guy to really outbox him, and Floyd actually walked him down, dominated him worse than Winky and Vernon COMBINED, even tho they hurt him worse. Pac used footwork, and actually wasnt hip to the idea of fighting him until AFTER Floyd fought him. If Floyd wouldnt have fought him, Pac wouldnt until maybe later on in 2011 MAYBE.
You can EMPHASIZE words in big cap LETTERS all you like - it doesn't make your posts any less moronic or you any less of a blithering idiot.Comment

That's true, Ward hasn't seen every type of fighter. However has Floyd seen someone like Ward? I believe Ward uses distance and position very well to get leverage on close and far shots. He uses his strength to tire people out and rough them up which makes people uncomfortable.
Ward has not faced the types that Floyd has, but he has faced various styles.
He beat Miranda who is a Puncher.
He beat Kessler who is a fairly decent boxer.
Allen Green (Meh) was a puncher.
Bika is a dirty Brawler-Boxer type.
Abraham a Boxer Brawler.
Froch a Rangey hard hitting fighter.
Dawson (Weight drained) A boxer.
Rodriguez I don't know too well, but he was a big guy who seemed to be a brawler.
Ward has a few years left to add to his resume. It is decent but could do with a few more. Injury and promoter issues though.Comment

he'd do well.
but he'd lose. if floyd was his size and fighting at his weight, we'd have people talking about him moving up to fight a klitschko. that's how good he is.Comment

That's true but reflexes and speed usually slow if you re bigger. Where as Ward probably would gain speed and possibly agility if he was smaller.
All fantasy of course so anything can really be said.Comment

Because Mayweather beat him the worse, and he walked him down. Cotto is the same size as Mosley. Floyd is way smaller than them both, and Pac wouldnt have fought Mosley if Floyd wouldnt have fought him first. He needed Floyd to show him how a smaller man can win.I felt he was made to order. People forget that Cotto won literally 7 rounds straight until he gassed and got his nose busted.
Or that Williams beat him not too long a go...
Boxer > Brawler 70% of the time for me.
What you talking about the reason Mosely lost after Floyd because people realised he could be outboxed? Mosely was not undefeated... So how the hell did 'Mayweather' show us how to beat Mosely when it was done previously...
Not sure if you were here when he fought Cotto, but one dude made a thread and said Cotto will outjab Mosely. I laughed, but it actually happened. Cotto boxed him and JUST about won.
Let's not forget Forrest and Winky.
So he loses to a boxer - Brawler in Cotto, and then faces Mayroga who was shot but a brawler. Shane looked **** in there at 154! But he won.
OK you asked for it.
OK well I will comment on Snr coming back. Snr was kicked out of that camp and was not even the main trainer. He gave advice. This time around, he is the MAIN trainer.
Tell me am I wrong?
Then how Floyd made Canelo, Ortiz, JMM and Mosely look the same?
Well firstly Ortiz did not look the same. The fight was 4 rounds? LOL. Ortiz was a loose cannon chasing around at times, or being hit with the straight right and being walked back. However it was a messy fight by the 4th.
JMM and Mosely were similar in that it was the centre of the ring. JMM got dropped and looked slow at his new weight. JMM
Mosely was shot to me. You can disagree as you wish which I have no issue with, but when he looked **** VS Mayorga and lost to Cotto pre Marg, he was on the decline. Then a long lay off at his age certainly messed him up. A fighter can get old over night is used in Boxing by people who are employed in Boxing. They know.
Marg was tailor, a guy with no defence who cuts you off. Perfect for Mosely to land shots and his power is the last to go away. He has no legs and is scared to pull a shot unless he is really close and in range.
Canelo looked similar too but that is how Canelo fights. He is a guy who waits in the centre, he is not a brawler. He boxed Matthew Hatton to a 12 UD. He boxed Trout. That's how he fights. He has an issue with stamina and workrate as Mosely did at this period in many of his fights.
They ALL have their own style, but None were brawlers. I will exclude Ortiz because it was no way similar.
All are Counter punchers and box and sometimes brawl.
JMM boxed that Russian to a UD.
Canelo Boxed Trout.
Mosely boxed Mayorga.
Centre of the ring. Not too high workrate. None were fast enough to land.
As far as Sr being trainer, Im not going for that. You specifically said that he had problems in the Mosley fight which caused him to bring Sr back. Sr was very instrumental in that camp and its no secret. Now you tell me I am wrong.
And you just admitted that Ortiz was running into shots, just like everyone else. You say the fight was messy, to distract yourself from admitting that Floyd landed the most shots, avoided the most, and didnt blink an eye just like he did in his other fights.
Juan and Mosley were similar, to Ortiz. Floyd landed the most shots on them an made them clumsly run into shots.
If you feel Mosley was shot, that is your opinion. But the fights you speak of are fights that happen before he dominated a guy he was the underdog against. Floyd didnt fight him coming off his fight with Cotto and Mayorga. He fought him coming off his best win in which he looked like a beast. If you feel that Marg is taylor made thats your lonely opinion. Fact is, no one expected Mosley to win. Mosley beat a very dangerous fighter who was at the top at the time he fought him.
You type all this nonsense to find tactical ways to avoid admitting that Floyd beat them all equally easy. I dont gaf if it was the center of the ring, side of the ring, pocket, backfoot. He dominated them all and made them all look clumsey and dumb. I dont care if its a brawler, boxer, or whatever. You pretended to not understand what I was saying, and started going into tangents.
I would like for you to respond to my comment about Nazzim overexaggerating about Ward. Even going far enough to say he had hidden KO power.
I also made a comment about the difference between Floyd and Ward's plus minus. Ward's is 15, and Floyd's was 30.Comment
