Fantasy: Would a Welter Andre Ward do well VS Floyd?

Floyd squares up with his elbow at time too when he twists his hips rolling shots. They hit people at time so that's illegal too.

You can't shoulder roll effectively when someone literally wraps their arms around you since they force you into position.

I think Ward can outjab Mayweather. What do you think? May tens not to jab too much now, but of course when he does it's effective to the solar plexus
I personally think a good, fast, solid clean jab is an awesome tool.




I wouldn't say Ward is slow. I use to think he had that average Bradley speed, but he's fairly fast for SMW. To me the transition from MW is where speed tends to slow down for guys since they usually can walk at 180/190.

Ward does make mistakes, but all boxers do. Floyd does but since he has such fast reflexes he can get away with it too. Plus many guys he fights are flat footed and always set their shots. Floyd disses man guys saying they are flat footed. It may not sound like much, but in boxing that's like saying Usian Bolt runs with an umbrella on his back. It's a hindrance. I am a goal keeper for football (soccer) and also play badminton and when I am flat footed my movement is so crap.

I don't see Ward getting walked down at all. Outboxed yes.

And Floyd dont always rely on the shoulder roll. I would love to see him fight with the stance he used against Mosley. He been rolling allot lately because Broner came and repopulated it. But with Mosley he stood in a similar stance but more squared.

Man to me, Ward is slow af. He just doesnt telegraph and gets off first. That fight would look like Floyd vs Canelo, Ortiz, Juan. Floyd fight all these different styles, and changes his style in order to dominate them without being grazed. A style like Pac's or Aaron pryor can trouble him. But to me, despite how smart Ward is, he would look dumb and clumsey just like the rest.

I am going to watch some Ward fights again to see about the speed and clumsiness is. Maybe I missed it. Sometimes when a fighter wins all the time, you look pass the mistakes.

I really feel like Brother ****m said, you aint seen the best of Ward. He does seem to fight to his opponent. From getting dropped to an unknown, to beat Kessler and so on.

He is incredibly smart and grounded. He would train correctly, not feel pressure from Floyd's antics and would have a game plan A, B and C IMO. His trainer is very philosophical and caring. Much like Abel is for GGG.

You obviously wont see any clumsiness, but if he fought Floyd the athleticism advantage, would be the thing that turns him into another dummy.

****im did make those comments but I always felt he was overexaggerating. He said Ward had this hidden one punch KO power. I feel like Ward wont get any better than what he did to Chad. He punched every single time he could. Did great inside work too.

Ward is an excellent fighter. But no matter how many gameplans he has, Floyd is just so instinctive, sharp, psychic etc. Sometimes he steps to the side, steps back, pivots, turns, budges, so many defensive tools. After a few rounds he is able to bodyscan an opponent, and know what angles their punches will come from. Ward is a skilled tactical fighter with great d. But Floyd is a full blown defensive specialist, who just happens to be an all around masterfighter. And Ward has been fighting some tough competition. His plus minus is 15 I believe. At Floyd's best his was 30. Twice as accurate, and twice as hard to hit. To me its nothing Ward can do to win.

The stance did not get him in trouble at ALL!! That was his best performance and Floyd Sr WAS in camp. He got caught because he wasnt paying attention. They told him to go back to boxing, then he went and walked him down the rest of the fight. LOL. Floyd made Mosley look just like JMM, Canelo, Ortiz, Ghost. They all look the same no matter what age, style, or size.

He walked Mosely down because Mosely simply did not pull the trigger and after a certain amount of rounds he fades quickly. You need to have feet that move quickly or you look like that.

I dont care HOW long he was out of the ring. The last time he was in the ring before fighting Floyd, he was a killer. I disagree about Marg being made to order. He was supposed to win and got dominated. The reason he lost after Floyd is because people realized he could be outboxed. Floyd is the one who dominated him. And you didnt respond to my comment about how you said thats the reason he brought Sr back, when Sr was actually in that camp. You also didnt respond to my comment about how Floyd made Canelo, JMM, Ortiz look the same as Mosley. But none of them even fight like Mosley, and none of them faded. Mosley didnt fade either. He was breathing out of his mouth, but he was still trying. But Floyd countered everything, making him gun shy and walked him down just like the others.
