He certainly gets a cut of ppv and Khan will do better numbers than Lara

Do you think anyone here is privy to the actual numbers? It's just plain common sense that an Amir Khan fight will generate far more than a fight with someone no one has heard of. Just think about the UK PPV market alone. What is Lara bringing to the table that could even come close to matching that?

I'm trying to figure out this "monumental upside" to beating a bum over a legit opponent. Cause Floyd leaves the ring with however much more, personally I don't think it's that much and no respect. I'm trying to see if it's really worth it.

The upside is the money which is what this thread is about and what I thought we were discussing.

If you want to talk about "respect", then that's another topic. You need to stop being so emotional and live in the real world. "Respect" from internet nerds doesn't pay the bills.

Yes and through all your useless blabber you've still not given me anything solid concerning the money. Since you don't know, that much is rather obvious, why would you care?? I'm willing to wager "Floyd can pay his bills with what he makes if he did fight Lara over Khan".

i don't think so...if there will be a difference it's going to be the ppv upside. floyd would get the same guarantee no matter what considering that lara doesn't get paid as much as khan imo.

and while khan is more popular than lara, there's so much to criticize about his matchup with floyd and would be harder to promote. a floyd-lara on the other hand would be a credible fight to promote and the only challenge to the promoter is to introduce lara to casual fans and what he can bring to the table.

This is exactly what I'm thinking. The casual will ask, "who's Lara"? The promoter will say, "have a look see". Shows them Lara/Angulo and Lara/Trout. The fight proceeds to sell itself.

i've been saying feed lara to canelo, let him school him that will get him a lot of recognition. but no, promoters are too scared to lose another potential cash cow, than make the best fights possible. it's sickening.

Yeah but if Lara fights Canelo then Floyd gets away with Khan in may. I don't want Floyd/Khan in may so I'd prefer Lara now. The bottom line is Floyd/Khan bugs me.

Yes he could but you don't turn down more money for less money just for the sake of it. I've given you something solid, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why Khan is bringing more to the table than Erislandy Lara. He has a global appeal in countries around the world. The UK PPV market alone dwarfs anything Lara is bringing. It will do a good number on Sky Box Office here. What is Lara bringing? Cuban PPV? Lol...please enlighten me.
