I thought boxing was a non-profit? doesn't Floyd convert all his money into turkeys to give to homeless people?

If Mayweather was "all about business" he'd be fighting Pacquaio

        1) floyds the highet paid athlete, why continue to worry about the business side if your gna make way more than any of us on these boards, nd wont make a difference to him cause hes already got exponentially so much. its like a billionaire tryna use coupons at keyfood. i believe he uses "boxing is a business" to dupe the people blinded nd to duck

        2) fighting manny makes most business sense.. bc easy opponent w record breaking ppv numbers.. am i wrong?

You should qualify "on paper". We agree a crap fight on paper sucks. But every once in a while you get tyson buster or something great like that like khan prescott. Not the best example lol.

I just hope floyd khan doesn't get made.

Quite a lot more. You're talking about Erislandy Lara - who outside of hardcore fans even know who he is?

This is what I argue about with Floyd Stans. I work with one and friends with another (both black of course). They always hit me with the Floyd makes more money and he calls the shots. I tell em like this: Why do you care what Floyd makes or how much money he generates? Are you getting a cut from that money? I'm a boxing fan not a money fan. I want to see the best fight the best. If you're more into the money side of boxing why don't you become fans of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet

I agree. The fight should happen. I would even say that if boxing was a real sport it would have happened when it was supposed to.

The business side of boxing has turned it into a joke.

Prize fighters fight for money. Promoters promote for money, networks broadcast for money (proper) journo’s report the news for money and so on and so forth. A lot of rose tinted glasses need to be removed here people. No one, is doing this “for the love of the game.” GTFOH with that.

Fans have the ability to change this paradigm but only by squeezing their cash flow. No live fights, no PPV, no cable. Anyone left trying to make a living at the end of that will be forced to change. Considering the fact that as fans, we just keep feeding these assholes. We have to share some of the blame for the current situation.

It’s put up or shut up basically.
                  I concur with this statement.

Regarding Floyd/Khan nobody is forcing anyone to spend money/time whatever to watch this, if it does 200k ppv then the point will be made but it won't, it'll do good enough to make it worth the while , after all was Guerrero/Floyd any less of a crap fight.

It's not about caring how much a fighter makes, it's about being aware enough to understand why fighters take the most lucrative fights instead of the fights a bunch of nerds on internet forums want them to take.
