The Khan fight won't sell easily, that's why Floyd is begging Canelo and Broner to fight on his undercard. He already knows it's going to flop

i'd also like to add that most of the "who cares if boxing is a business" crowd doesn't actually buy ppv, or HBO and showtime subs.

bring broke is probably why they don't get it.

As much as I’d love to agree with you, I've’ve been watching this game for long enough to know that your mentality there is incorrect.

Amateur boxing is a sport. Professional boxing is Business conducted via sport. The basis for all business is profit, not sportsmanship.

Prize fighters fight for money. Promoters promote for money, networks broadcast for money (proper) journo’s report the news for money and so on and so forth. A lot of rose tinted glasses need to be removed here people. No one, is doing this “for the love of the game.” GTFOH with that.

Fans have the ability to change this paradigm but only by squeezing their cash flow. No live fights, no PPV, no cable. Anyone left trying to make a living at the end of that will be forced to change. Considering the fact that as fans, we just keep feeding these assholes. We have to share some of the blame for the current situation.

It’s put up or shut up basically.

Not anymore. Boxing is WWE especially the big PPV fights. Everything is fixed and everybody is ccorrupt.

Casual fans can be convinced that Khan is the biggest threat known to man. It doesn't matter. Its the easiest "sport" to manipulate the buying public.

stock market is a business. por nography is a business

boxing is a sport. floyds the highest paid athlete, hes at a point in his career were how much he makes wont even make a difference, hence he dont need to worry about the business aspect just fight the fights. its broke fighters like kirkland, gamboa, stevens who needs to rrally worry about the business part to survive. floyd uses business as an excuse to duck, hes got so much money he dont gotta give 2 shts about the bhsiness side anymore

secondly, if hes worried about the "business" fighting pacmonster, an easy opponent passed his prime, will generate the most "business".. am i wrong?

Boxing , **** and the stock market are the same thing.

The business with the most upside potential gets the most investment dollars. Same with fighters.

The baddest, nastiest ***** is the most popular and makes the most money. The most popular boxer gets the most money.

                  Its all the same ****.

Football, basketball and baseball are sports. The best teams play each other in the playoffs and win championship s in an organized sports league.

Well since you've quoted me, please do tell me how much more does Floyd stand to make fighting Khan. Seriously do tell.

Not sure what that was supposed to mean or if it even made sense, it was so far off the point.

Almost any other sport functions on the simple concept of winning and losing. In any other sport, you have to win a league or a tournament to get the prize, tne money that goes with it and the distinction of being the best. Is that how boxing works anymore. Multiple titles and multiple champions within the same organisations in the same divisions????

In times past in boxing, your ranking in a division depended on wins over ranked opponents in that division. Now fighters are placed as number 1 contenders without winning a single fight in said division or placed there after beating a fighter without a single win in said division. Does the number 1 contender always get a shot at the champion? Is merely winning enough? In boxing tv networks dictate fights almost as much as governing bodies.what takes place in the ring is sport, but but money dictates almost everything outside it. I don't use it as an excuse for any fighters' actions, but can't pretend it doesn't work that way.
