If Lucas Matthysse went with Robert Garcia?

This has always been my biggest problem with Mattyhsse. He's too passive at times and just doesn't throw as many punches as he shouldI don't think Matthysse needs much tweeking but there is some stuff he could work on.
Someone mentioned earlier (dr.Rumack?) that he's waiting too long to unload punches at times. Especially when he's being held, he doesn't seem to show that urgency like he wants to get out of the clinch and start punching again. A common theme with the 3 fighters that made the final bell with him is that they were all able to spoil his work on the inside. I don't know if that's something Garcia works on specifically but Maidana worked brilliantly out of the clinch this weekend.
Regarding Garcia i think this will always be a hard style for him. But i do think he could get the win if they fought again. Being able to stop Garcia spoiling on the inside is crucial imo
I don't know if Robert Garcia can help him with thatComment

Maybe, i wasn't saying he should leave his trainer though. Also did he really? He hit Peterson a few times when he was being held but see him creating trying to break his arm free or push Peterson off him to create some distance.
How many times in the Broner Maidana fight did we see the ref look to step in and break them up, only for Maidana to break free and start wailing on him again?
That's what i want to see from Matthysse. He seems so patient, which is good generally, but it worked against him in the Garcia fight.Comment

Against counter punchers. That's a smart thing. The only types of fighters that do that are Khan, and look what happened to him.
Also Manny, but he the speed to let that work.Comment

No... Danny delivered a brilliant 7th round and closed Lucas' eye -- thus concluding the fight... As you know well...Comment

I'm not saying he should be throwing caution to the wind every single round, but he needs to be more aggressive.
I remember when he dropped Devon Alexander in their fight. He backed off him right after and ended up losing the next round. He let's these counter punchers outwork him. With his style, it's a dumb thing to do.Comment

He did exactly that in every clinch. Re watch the fight. Show me one clinch that Lucas wasn't punching like crazy. You can't.Maybe, i wasn't saying he should leave his trainer though. It depends on his opponents.
He's not fighting bums like Broner. Garcia and Alexander kind of know how to box. And you can't turn his style in Porter's.
He is a methodical, sometimes free swinging fighter that uses his brains in the ring. Nothing's wrong with that, and if he didn't get that unfortunate eye swelling, and ended up winning, we wouldn't be saying ****.Comment

But Devon's not Broner's bum ass. And Lucas isn't gonna turn into Shawn Porter.I'm not saying he should be throwing caution to the wind every single round, but he needs to be more aggressive.
